13.45 Border Minstrel Pub Apprentice Handicap IT’S A LOVE THING has been running poorly of late but this C&D winner is extremely well handicapped being 16lb lower than when last successful. From a handy draw, and hopefully being fit, the eight-year-old is dangerous to rule out.

14.10 Napoleons Casino And Restaurant Leeds Apprentice Handicap COSMOS RAJ has five course wins in the book, with the last of those coming off a mark of 77 last year in a stronger event. Even after returning to winning ways last time out, the eight-year-old remains 11lb lower than when he last won at this venue, so he remains well handicapped and can go close.

Our Four Best Bets for Sunday’s Racing
AIN’T NOBODY (14.15pm Beverley) The Beverley Bullet looks wide-open. However, it’s about time AIN’T NOBODY recaptured some of his best efforts. This Group 2-Royal Ascot winner has yet to match the form of last year’s second in the Nunthorpe, but that is the best form on offer, and maybe this significant ease in grade is what he wants.

13.25 Tattersalls EBF Novice Stakes An informative opener with the narrow vote going to NEW OXFORD. He was just behind Somerton on debut at Sandown but should appreciate the step up in distance and can have a say in the outcome.

13.40 Tattersalls 40,000 EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes TALL TREES looks a good bet in the first race on the card. She’s placed on her last couple of outings, including when a good third over C&D last time out in a stronger event.

14.25 Killik Nursery HOLI SCARLETT looks capable of going close in the opener. She was last seen finishing a good third at Newmarket and this looks like a much easier contest. I see no reason why the drop in distance won’t suit, so she’s the one I want to side with.

16.42 Celebrating National Racehorse Week Maiden Hurdle ST JUST IN TIME ought to prove hard to beat. He was last seen finishing a good third at Perth and his yard remains in very good form. With the best form on offer, I’ll be surprised if Harry Derham’s charge cannot make the most of this excellent opportunity.

14.15 Yorkshire Dales Distillery/EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes Debutant MUGHEER could make a winning start to his career. This looks a thin race and his connections are prone to doing well with similar types.

14.15 Irish EBF Maiden Stakes THE MEAN FIDDLER came very close to making a winning debut at Pontefract and then matched that form when runner-up at Ripon. With that experience under his belt, this is a great opportunity for him to go one better.

14.08 Neu-Servo Bet On Great Repairs Handicap Chase AXEL BLEUE is a regular here and boasts course form of 22312 from five outings. He came really close to winning here last time out and a reproduction of that performance should again see him really competitive.

13.50 Sky Bet Strensall Stakes (Group 3) I like the claims of Irish raider GERYON, who has really improved on his last couple of starts, winning a Group 3 event at Leopardstown prior to a good second at Goodwood.
