13.55 Racing To School Celebrates 25 Years Lady Amateur Jockeys Handicap (Str)
CALYXOH lacks consistency but ran really well when third at Newmarket last time out and is well treated based on his handicap from a couple of years ago. He should go well, while EAZY ON THE EYE has only found one too good on her last couple of starts and is another that must enter calculations given the form she’s in at the moment.
Tips: CALYXOH & EAZY ON THE EYE
14.30 Charbonnel et Walker EBF Maiden Stakes
IMPASTO looks the part on paper and given how well Colin Keane, Andrew Balding and Juddmonte have done this season, this son of Palace Pier is heavily respected. SENOR BLUES is also of interest for the Harry Charlton team.
Tips: IMPASTO & SENOR BLUES
15.05 Ascot Events EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes
CLARITY has the experience in her inventory and a repeat of her narrow second at Salisbury ought to be enough to see her go close. The most interesting newcomer to me is Ralph Beckett’s DIVIDE AND CONQUER, who has a smashing pedigree and could go well.
Tips: CLARITY & DIVIDE AND CONQUER
15.40 Juddmonte EBF Restricted Novice Stakes
PURE MINT was deeply impressive when winning by four lengths plus on debut at Ripon and this Group 2 entrant looks capable of defying the penalty with stronger races in mind. SOLDIER OF THE SEA wasn’t beaten far when second at Salisbury last time out having previously won first-time-out and is feared most.
Tips: PURE MINT & SOLDIER OF THE SEA
16.15 Big Ascot Food & Wine Festival Classified Stakes
BEST RATE can be best forgiven for his latest run at Newbury and this course winner cannot be ruled out. That being said, JONNY CONCRETE is on a roll at present, winning his last couple of starts, and a 6lb rise is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. He’s the form horse and should give this a good go.
Tips: BEST RATE & JONNY CONCRETE
16.48 Ascot Hospitality Handicap (Str)
This is a very competitive contest. SPANISH VOICE went very close over C&D last time out when third and the handicapper has left his mark unchanged. He looks ready to make another impact. The other one worth a second look is OZAT. He kept on strongly to finish third at this course last time out and looks well handicapped, so he’s of strong interest having already been set some lofty targets since coming over to the UK. James Doyle will ride.
Tips: SPANISH VOICE & OZAT
