The “favourite” is the horse or greyhound that has the shortest SP (Starting Price i.e. final odds returned from the racecourse for each horse / greyhound to win) at the start of the race and is available as a selection in Win and Place pools.
If there are joint favourites (or co-favourites), the horse or greyhound with the lowest racecard number will be deemed favourite.
