Taunton Place 6 preview | 2nd March
13.40 – British Racing School 40th Anniversary Celebration Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f
BROOMFIELDS CAVE ran a really good race when third here last time on handicap debut and gets into this race off the exact same mark. He did well to finish where he did and is open to plenty of improvement, so he must enter calculations here.
Selections: BROOMFIELDS CAVE
14.15 – Rowcliffes Novices’ Hurdle – 2m3f
MATTERHORN failed to meet market expectations when pulled up on his stable debut but this is a significant drop in grade and he retains potential. The ground will be a lot better for him and I can see him proving tough to beat here. I think he has excellent claims as you can draw a line through his latest performance.
Selections: MATTERHORN
14.50 – Invest Southwest Mares’ Handicap Chase – 2m5f
LADY KK was only sixth back over hurdles last time but she ran well in her two previous chase starts when runner-up and should go well. While SHIROCCO’S DREAM never saw another rival when winning on her chase debut and, with the expectation of plenty more to offer, she could be tough to beat in receipt of weight from all rivals.
Selections: LADY KK, SHIROCCO’S DREAM
15.25 – Stables Business Park Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f
FANCY YOUR CHANCES has displayed promise in each of her starts to date and should be better from her latest handicap debut when only fourth. She could get involved, as could THE BOLD THADY, who’s placed twice off higher marks and this race looks slightly easier than last time. He could go close with more to come.
Selections: FANCY YOUR CHANCES, THE BOLD THADY
16.00 – Richard Williams Memorial Handicap Chase – 2m7f
WICK GREEN was winning for the third time over fences last time and is only five pounds higher for this race. He is the one to beat. However, CAMULUS ran a good race when third on his chase debut and will have learnt a lot from that experience. He might turn out to be the biggest danger for his in-form handler.
Selections: WICK GREEN, CAMULUS
16.35 – Free Racing On Monday 13th March Open NH Flat Race – 2m
Plenty of guesswork needed here but TUNE IN THE BOX is Tom Lacey’s only runner on the card and Cameron Lies takes off a valuable ten pounds. That means this four-year-old will compete in this off a tiny weight and is related to some useful types. He could be a big player.
Selections: TUNE IN THE BOX
