Musselburgh Place 6 preview | 1st March
13.50 – At racingtv.com Juvenile Maiden Hurdle – 1m7f
ELOGIO won convincingly on his debut in a bumper at Aintree and might have won last time if he had kept a straight line. If he can do just that here, he’s got excellent prospects of going one better. MORANDI SECOND has shown promise in all three hurdle starts and could go well too.
Selections: ELOGIO, MORANDI SECOND
14.20 – Watch On Racing TV Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f
HOLD ONTO THE LINE has been on a roll since tackling handicaps and has now won his last three starts, including on his chase debut last time. All three of those wins have been at this course and James Ewart’s charge could defy another rise in the weights with more to offer. I wouldn’t put maximum faith in CARTONNE to repeat his last win but he gets weight from all.
Selections: HOLD ONTO THE LINE, CARTONNE
14.50 – Join Racing TV Now Handicap Chase – 2m4f
STORM TIGER shades the vote for this race. He ran a very solid race when second on his chase debut and that form received a boost yesterday when the winner followed-up at Ayr. He has only been raised a pound and effectively drops in class to contest this assignment, so the seven-year-old has solid claims.
Selections: STORM TIGER
15.25 – Every Race Live On Racing TV Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f
LONE STAR has won three of his last four starts and although he is down in trip off a much higher mark than his latest success, he has to be respected in his current mood. SPOT ON SOPH has only found one too good in each of her last two starts though and isn’t out of this.
Selections: LONE STAR, SPOT ON SOPH
15.55 – Visit racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f
HIDALGO DE L’ISLE had finished second in three consecutive events before scoring in good style at Bangor about three weeks ago. He clearly has more on his plate here off a 7Ib higher mark but Donald McCain’s charge is heading in the right direction and has a good chance.
Selections: HIDALGO DE L’ISLE
16.25 – Racecourse Live Streams On Racing TV Extra Handicap Chase – 2m7f
While CROAGH PATRICK remains 7Ib above his last winning mark, he has run well in stronger races than this the last twice off higher marks and would only need to repeat those performances to surely get himself in the mix in this slightly weaker race.
Selections: CROAGH PATRICK
