13.15 – Pat Eddery Stakes (Listed) – 7f

An excellent opener in prospect with MR MCCANN taken to build on his promising fourth in the Group 2 Superlative Stakes last time. He has progressed with each outing and should take some beating back down in grade, though CACHET has acquitted herself with plenty of credit at a higher level of late, including a close-up third in the listed Empress Stakes last time and can go close.

Selections: MR MCCANN, CACHET

13.50 – Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) – 6f

This looks a really good race and, for that matter, both DESERT DREAMER and SYSTEM who fought out the finish in a listed event at Newmarket 28 days ago are selected. It’s difficult to split these high-class pairs of fillies who have the strongest form in the book and can do battle once more. ZAIN CLAUDETTE could prove dangerous at a price, who won nicely at Newmarket when last spotted and shouldn’t be discounted.

14.25 – Porsche Handicap (Str) – 1m

MYSTERY SMILES was down the field in the 2000 Guineas but will find this much easier than some tasks he’s faced of late and could run a big race under William Carver claiming a valuable three-pounds. The likeable ISLA KAI completed a hat-trick with another all-the-way success on the round course here and is improving all the time so should prove difficult to beat with track, trip and conditions to suit.

15.00 – Moet & Chandon International Stakes (Heritage Handicap) – 7f

The Moet & Chandon International Stakes (Heritage Handicap) looks an interesting renewal, where Dane O’Neill has opted to ride top-weight MOTAKHAYYEL, who landed a second successive Bunbury Cup at Newmarket 14 days ago in terrific style and this proven C&D winner should be thereabouts, while DANYAH reached the frame in a top handicap for a third time when second in Buckingham Palace over C&D last time and has William Buick in the saddle. ROPEY GUEST continues to knock on the door in these big-field handicaps at this venue and is another to consider in an ultra-competitive event.

15.35 – King George VI And Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) – 1m3f

The feature race of the day, the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes, looks mouth-watering and it’s the Derby winner ADAYAR who gets the vote to capitalise on the weight he gets from Love. His form couldn’t have worked out any better, either, with Hurricane Lane boosting the form significantly since in Group 1 company and this imposing three-year-old will be bidding to become the first horse since the brilliant Galileo to complete the complete Derby/King George double. None of the field can be discounted though as it includes five Group 1 winner’s and the Irish Derby runner-up, too, so let’s hope this intriguing race lives up to every expectation!

Selections: ADAYAR

16.10 – Sebastian’s Action Trust Handicap – 1m3f

ZUBA wasn’t at his best when last sighted over hurdles but is a strong stayer who had been in good form in this discipline beforehand and could get involved under Dougie Costello, though DOCTOR PARNASSUS was unfortunate to be collared right on the line last-time-out and should have a race in him from his current mark with improvement anticipated.
