Sedgefield Betting Preview
14.00 – Cazoo Juvenile Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) – 2m
RAMURE and Babajan are closely matched on a line through The Yellow Mini but the former, trained by Stuart Edmunds, shaped with a good deal of promise when second of 7 on her British/yard debut and, being in receipt of a chunk of weight from her nearest market rival, she’s fancied to open her account at the second time of asking here.
14.35 – carpetgallop.co.uk 01785719991 Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) – 2m3f
MR CAPLAN has a tenacious attitude and lost little in defeat when taking second last time. There’s every chance he has more to offer and he could take some stopping under Sean Bowen for trainer Gordon Elliott. VOICE OF HOPE is useful and having ran well to finish third last time, this four-year-old rates a chief threat to the former with the remainder hard to recommend.
Selections: MR CAPLAN, VOICE OF HOPE
15.10 – All Weather Surfaces carpetgallop.co.uk Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m5f
BROTHER PATT looks the most persuasive option having resumed winning ways with an improved effort at Worcester a couple of weeks ago and he holds solid claims, while KENDELU was a three-time winner over hurdles during the second half of last year and is well-treated back over fences.
Selections: BROTHER PATT, KENDELU
15.42 – All Weather Gallops By carpetgallop.co.uk Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m
SPEREDEK isn’t the force of old but surely he’s better than this grade despite his advancing years having finished runner-up in a Grade 1 in his youth. This ten-year-old should take some beating now dropped into this grade for the first time in his career. STRONG TEAM has landed handicaps over C&D and at Kelso with loads to spare the last two times and is a huge player in his hat-trick bid.
Selections: SPEREDEK, STRONG TEAM
16.12 – Cavellos Italian Steakhouse Gin & Cocktail Bar Handicap Chase – 2m1f
LUCKY ROBIN returned to form when scoring over hurdles here last time and should make a bold bid to follow-up. COSTLY DIAMOND was a cracking second at Stratford last time and is feared whilst in such a rich vein of form this year, while CHECK MY PULSE has become dangerously well-handicapped and could take some catching under Henry Brooke.
Selections: LUCKY ROBIN, COSTLY DIAMOND, CHECK MY PULSE
16.45 – carpetgallop.co.uk Supporting Racing Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f
THE BLAME GAME made it two-from-three when dominating his rivals over C&D last time and should be thereabouts given how well his trainer does at this venue. DEMI SANG finds it difficult to win but is on a dangerous mark and should be in the thick end of the action.
Selections: THE BLAME GAME, DEMI SANG
