Stratford Place 6 preview | 23rd April

13.45 – Grace And Dotty Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m

Alex Hales’ IIARY DE L’ECU has yet to showcase her French form in the UK but a break will have done her good and her prominent style of racing will suit around this course. She should be competitive, while CARRIGEEN KAMPALA made a decent start to her hurdles career when fifth and has leading claims.

Selections: IIARY DE L’ECU, CARRIGEEN KAMPALA

14.15 – Grace And Dotty Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m

LADY GWEN chased home a 125-rated sort back in October and while she ended last season on a low-key note at Hereford, she returns in a winnable race. She is Jane Williams’ only runner on the card and this is a good opportunity for her to open her account over hurdles.

Selections: LADY GWEN

14.45 – David Spencer 60th Birthday Cup Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m3f

COCONUT TUDOR has ultimately struggled this season but his fifth two starts ago wasn’t a bad effort and his best effort was when a neck second off a 5Ib higher mark in this month last year. If he can return to that form, he would have a serious chance in this contest. POST NO BILLS has finished second in four of his last five starts and is a leading player as well.

Selections: COCONUT TUDER, POST NO BILLS

15.15 – NAF Five Star Metazone Handicap Hurdle – 3m2f

SHANTOU SUNSET finished her time with Philip Hobbs out of sorts but she did win a better race than this over C&D last May and that success was from a 5Ib higher mark. She travelled well and idled when in front, so she was value for more than the winning margin indicated. She goes well fresh and has been given a fair chance by the assessor if she can get back to something near her best.

Selections: SHANTOU SUNSET

15.45 – Mary Kendrick Memorial Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m

MINELLADESTINATION is the most reliable of these and again ran well in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 7 at Doncaster in a handicap last month. She is two pounds lower in this race and went close two starts ago off this mark, so she should be thereabouts in a race that wont take a lot of winning by any means.

Selections: MINELLADESTINATION

16.15 – Racecourse Streams On Racing TV Extra Handicap Chase – 3m3f

KIM EYRE has yet to win a race under rules but she has placed in two of her last three starts and the way she hit the line strongly last time suggests she will be suited to the longer trip in this race. She has taken well to chasing and should be in the firing line against mostly quirky opponents.

Selections: KYM EYRE
