Imperial Data returned a game winner at Kelso last time and is a consistent sort but DREAM JET came good at the second time of asking for this stable when winning with a bit to spare at Stratford and should have more to come back in a handicap. He might offer some value to upset the favourite in the opener.

THAT’S JET has taken well to this sphere who has improved with each start and pulled a long way clear of the rest when a close-up second to a warm favourite last-time-out. He would only need to repeat that performance to surely go one better in this contest, though this race is littered with a few interesting hurdle debutants.

JUMPING SUSIE went very close at Kelso three weeks ago when only finding one too good and whilst the winner could give the form a boost in the opener, I expect this Irish raider to go one better over this slightly shorter distance. She has finished second in four of her seven starts in this sphere and deserves a change in fortune.

Brian Ellison’s TUPELO MISSISSIPPI has yet to score over fences but he has come close on occasions, including when second at Doncaster back in February off a 3Ib higher mark. He has undergone wind surgery since he was last spotted and should that bring about improvement on his return, he could land the spoils.

ALIOMAANA made an encouraging chase debut when third at Stratford, where her jumping was good and she stuck to the task well to only be beaten a couple of lengths. She has been left on the same mark for this assignment and should go well. FEARLESS has finished second in his last two starts in this sphere and is feared most.

16.20 – Shine Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m
Despite the large numbers, this isn’t a competitive race at all. CARDANO scored in good style on the Flat last month and off a lenient mark back over timber, he could be set to follow up on this race. LEOPOLDS ROCK has C&D winning form to his name and is generally consistent in the races he doesn’t win. He is the second option behind the favourite.
