14.05 – Wynnstay Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f
It’s taken a while for IMAC WOOD to showcase his French form in the UK but he cashed-in on a low mark at Worcester last month and should give another good account of himself with that confidence-booster win under his belt. HERITIER is back on his last winning mark and a break since last time should have done him the world of good. He can run well in the opener.

14.35 – Horseradish Catering & Events Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m1f
Ben Pauling’s GAMBLE TIEP made a bad mistake early on when unseating his rider at Plumpton but is a decent horse when he keeps his mind on the job and scored impressively at Fontwell on his penultimate start. With a clear round, he could resume winning ways. UNCLE ARTHUR might raise his game now switched to fences and could go well off what is a low-mark.

15.05 – Overton On Dee Handicap Chase – 3m
WILLIAM EWART ran poorly last time but did bolt up on his last visit here when scoring by over eight lengths and has a chance if he can produce that performance in this contest. Of the rest, the top-weight HEAD ON is either hit or miss but has won three of his six starts over fences and his defeat of the 120-rated The Newest One is probably the best form on offer. I can see him making a bold bid under David Bass who is an interesting jockey booking for the Ian Williams team.

15.35 – Ruabon Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m3f
DRUMLEE SPUD failed to justify strong market support when only second on debut at Worcester but better can be expected here and he’s taken to make amends. VIVE DE CHARNIE has left plenty to work on after two starts and could pose a threat if ready after a break on stable debut for Lucinda Russell with Derek Fox having his only ride on the card.

16.05 – tote.co.uk Never Beaten By SP Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f
BURBANK maintained a relentless gallop to succeed at Perth last time and a 4Ib rise seems fair given his last exploits in which he was rated in the 140s. He isn’t the most consistent but if he backs up that latest success, he will be hard to catch on the front-end. DEE STAR is back over hurdles for the first time in a while from a reduced mark compared to his chase mark and could get competitive under ideal conditions.

16.35 – Nightingale House Hospice Maiden Hurdle – 2m
Placed in various Group 1 and Group 2 event’s, the high-class WORDSWORTH should be extremely hard to beat on his stable debut for David Pipe. He went very close on his hurdles debut when a neck second in Ireland and, with loads more to come, he can take care of this field before bigger assignments await him this upcoming season.
