Nottingham Place 6 preview | August 4th

Steven Dowler is taking on today’s Place 6 pool at Nottingham. Check out his preview below.

13.00 – British EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (GBB Race) – 6f

Ralph Beckett’s JULIET SIERRA does set a clear standard on her promising Newmarket debut second, in which she was very strong in the closing stages once the penny dropped behind an already debutant winner Streets Of Gold. Open to more improvement, Rob Hornby can guide her to success for his boss in the opener.

Selections: JULIET SIERRA

13.30 – Racing TV Extra Nursery – 1m

POLLY POTT benefitted from a positive ride at Bath last time when opening her account and, with connections keen to step her up in distance here, she’s a major player. ZARA’S RETURN has improved with each outing and ran well when second at Leicester last time. She’s feared most on her nursery debut.

Selections: POLLY POTT, ZARA’S RETURN

14.00 – Join Racing TV Now Fillies’ Handicap – 1m

HOLOCENE steps in handicaps on a very fair mark and although she returned a beaten favourite last time, she wasn’t beaten far. She should go very well in this weak-looking race. CONTROL has reached the frame in her last three starts and she should be in the shake-up here off bottom weight given her consistency this term.

Selections: HOLOCENE, CONTROL

14.30 – Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Novice Stakes (GBB Race) – 1m2f

NIGWA shaped with so much promise when beaten just a head on debut at this track around three weeks ago and is sure to appreciate the step up in distance here based on the way she hit the line strongly last time. With Andrea Atzeni booked to ride and the potential to rank higher, this daughter of Sea The Stars has to be classed as the one to beat.

Selections: NIGWA

15.00 – Watch Racing TV Handicap – 1m2f

RODOLFO ran his best race to date when third at Yarmouth last time and, despite looking as though he was stretched by the distance, he has place claims in this contest. WONDERFUL THING was suited to front-running tactics when winning at Leicester last month and should go well with Jim Crowley in the saddle.

Selections: RODOLFO, WONDERFUL THING

15.30 – 100% Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Fillies’ Handicap – 1m2f

CHICHEN ITZA has shown promise in three starts and while she returned a beaten favourite the last time, she should turn out to be a lot better than an initial mark of 77. With the potential to be better than this grade, this filly is worth another chance being the least exposed in the field.

Selections: CHICHEN ITZA
