Ludlow Place 6 Preview | 18th February
14.00 Farm And Garden Machinery Ltd Heavy Horsepower Maiden Hurdle
Just the three runners, which are normally unpredictable. However, ASSERTIVE WALK has been solid in defeat in two starts and wasn’t disgraced behind an odds-on favourite last time out. Granted any normal improvement, the six-year-old could be about to open his account.
Tips: ASSERTIVE WALK
14.33 Suzuki ATV EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle
I am fascinated by the participation of LEO WOOD. The five-year-old shaped promisingly when third on his only start in France (form looks strong) and he might have been found a good exploring to make a successful stable debut. I can see him being firmly in the mix with his stable in good form as well.
Tips: LEO WOOD
15.05 Meadows And Hynes Mares’ Handicap Chase
MOLTO BENE is already proving to be a better chaser than a hurdler, winning her first couple of starts before a good second in a Listed event at Newbury when last seen. She was no match for the winner Panic Attack but is down in class and improvement is undoubtedly forthcoming, so she could be set to make a mockery of this mark of 122.
Tips: MOLTO BENE
15.35 His Royal Highness The Prince Of Wales Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase
JACKS PARROT placed in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock for the second year running when third, doing all of his best work late on. He’s been dropped a pound since and is eased heavily in grade. He has done most of his racing in stronger company and he’s a pound lower than when going close (third) in last season’s Devon National at Exeter. Best bet.
Tips: JACKS PARROT
15.05 Michael Lumsden Memorial Handicap Hurdle
WESTLAIN made it two wins from five starts when sauntering to success at Huntingdon earlier this month, winning in the bridle by nine lengths. He’s been raised 9lb on the back of that victory but he has so much more to come and must have every chance of going in again.
Tips: WESTLAIN
16.35 Farm And Garden Machinery Ltd Overgrown Hedges Novices’ Handicap Chase
It’s been a torrid season for Venetia Williams but hopefully FALCO DES PINS can give her something to cheer about. He ran his best race to date when third at Taunton last time out and a reproduction of that performance in this grade should be more than enough to come out on top.
Tips: FALCO DES PINS
