Leicester Betting Preview
18.25 – William Bevin 40 Years Senior Veterinarian Handicap – 1m
MOON OVER THE SEA returned a very good fourth at Beverley last time and he looks well-treated on the balance of his first three runs in novice/maiden events behind useful sorts. He should play a leading role, while LARK LANE might be the one to fear most. He isn’t the easiest of rides but has shaped well the last twice and should go well if more straightforward here.
Selections: MOON OVER THE SEA, LARK LANE
18.55 – British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes – 5f
FRISKY is becoming expensive to follow, but she’s consistent and it’s only a matter of time before everything falls right for her and she gets her head in front. If Frederick Larson can get her into a nice position, she could win this. STYLISH ICON might have something to say about the former though, who’s yard are amongst the winners and she could go close if able to build upon the promise she displayed last year.
Selections: FRISKY, STYLISH ICON
19.25 – Leicester Racecourse Ideal Venue For Meetings & Conferences Handicap – 1m3f
FIRE EYES has yet to make an impact in four starts for this yard, but she drops in grade and has fallen to an attractive mark. She could prove a different proposition against these, while BIT OF A QUIRKE is three pounds lower than when winning here last year and has Hollie Doyle in the saddle. Her mount should figure in this company off bottom weight.
Selections: FIRE EYES, BIT OF A QUIRKE
19.55 – British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap – 7f
EPONINA likes it here and there’s every chance she will get her own way in front. She’s only two pounds above her last winning mark and Frederick Larson takes off a further five pounds to help matters. She’s on the shortlist dropped in grade. GRANARY QUEEN is generally consistent and should continue her nice run of form off the same mark as when third at Epsom last time.
Selections: EPONINA, GRANARY QUEEN
20.25 – Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap – 6f
MISSCALL wasn’t beaten far last time when third over course-and-distance and is only a couple of pounds higher than when beating a subsequent winner at Newmarket on her penultimate start. She should take some catching if granted a soft lead. David Evans DORA PENNY wasn’t at her best last time but shaped well when third her two starts ago and is well-treated on last year’s form.
Selections: MISSCALL, DORA PENNY
20.55 – Kube – The Premier Events Venue In Leicester Fillies’ Handicap – 1m2f
SNAP AMBUSH has shown enough ability on the all-weather to suggest she has a race of this nature within her grasp. She’s stepped up in trip ahead of her handicap debut and is open to improvement on her return to action. If she can produce the sort of performance as when third at Lingfield back in December, she could have too much for today’s opponents.
Selections: SNAP AMBUSH
