Selections: ESSENCIAL, RABAT
Marco Botti’s ESSENCIAL fared best of those held-up when fifth of 12 last-time-out and defied a pound higher mark when successful back in January in a class 5 event. He’s got to be feared at this level, while RABAT has finished in the frame in two of her last three starts and placed twice last year off much higher marks on the all-weather. She’s fancied to go well on the back of a solid effort at Bath last time.
14.35 – QuinnBet Daily Free Bet Restricted Novice Stakes (GBB Race) – 7f
Selections: HURRICANE KIKO
Difficult to separate the front two in the market but preference goes to HURRICANE KIKO, who showed promise when third on debut at Newmarket. That form has been advertised by the runner-up Self Praise since, who opened his account at Chester recently and, with more to come, this good-looking youngster has sound claims of beating the favourite here.
15.10 – Cazoo Maiden Handicap – 1m2f
Selections: SWASHBUCKLER
SWASHBUCKLER built on his earlier promise when an excellent second at Chelmsford last time, where he split two horses rated 80 plus. I think he’s been given a lenient handicap debut mark of 74 here on the balance of that latest form and while the remainder have to be respected, this son of Sea The Stars looks a key player with a three pounds claimer booked to ride.
15.45 – QuinnBet Quarterback Fillies’ Novice Stakes (GBB Race) – 6f
Selections: LIGHTNING APPROACH
James Tate’s LIGHTNING APPROACH looked an above-average prospect in the making when comfortably beating a good yardstick on debut at Windsor. She travelled well throughout and quickened away from her opponents to score with lots in hand. This race looks no tougher, and she’s strongly fancied to defy her penalty and remain undefeated.
16.20 – QuinnBet Acca Bonus Handicap – 6f
Selections: SPANGLED MAC, PAPA COCKTAIL
SPANGLED MAC is on a roll at present and bids to complete a four-timer having produced a career-best victory just five days ago. He’s been hit with a massive penalty as a result, but a seven pound claimer is back in the saddle, who rode him to victory earlier this month and he is the one to beat. PAPA COCKTAIL has been highly tried throughout his career so far and is a danger back down in grade with Hayley Turner in the saddle.
16.52 – Cazoo Search Drive Smile Handicap – 7f
Selections: CROCODILE POWER, BEAR TO DREAM
CROCODILE POWER has been in really good form for a long time now and has gone close the last two times off this mark. He should be very competitive again here. BEAR TO DREAM is another to arrive in good form and has yet to finish outside the frame in four consecutive starts. She has to be considered in this race.
