CANAGAT couldn’t get to grips with Intercessor here last week when only fourth, but he’s weighted to finish a lot closer on today’s terms and, off a two pounds lower mark, this 5yo should go very well here. ATHEEB has been well beaten in four starts for this yard, but he drops into this grade for the first time in his career and is eight pounds below his last winning mark.

Selections: CANAGAT, ATHEEB

18.40 – Miles Commercial British EBF Maiden Stakes – 7f

Charlie Appleby’s COURAGEOUS KNIGHT has been sent off favourite in all three starts to date and while none of those efforts have materialised into success, his trainer has found him an excellent opportunity to make amends with William Buick in the saddle. Unless Kingdom Of Dreams takes a major step forward from his two runs so far, the former should outclass this field.

Selections: COURAGEOUS KNIGHT

19.10 – Coral ‘Beaten-By-A-Length’ Free Bet Handicap – 1m2f

WISPER is a filly going the right way and absolutely bolted up at Brighton nine days ago, winning by six lengths. She has a penalty on this occasion, but she should make another bold bid to maintain her good record this year. NIGHT OF LUXURY ran well off this mark to finish fourth last time in a better race than this and could get involved with more to offer.

Selections: WISPER, NIGHT OF LUXURY

19.40 – Coral ‘Get Closer To The Action’ Handicap – 7f

STARSHIBA produced a good showing of himself when only collared in the latter stages at Ayr last time and he remains dangerously well-treated off past exploits. He could go one better off the same mark here. MARLAY PARK has an exceptional record at this course with figures reading 22132 and has a good chance on these terms.

Selections: STARSHIBA, MARLAY PARK

20.10 – Coral Proud Supporter Of British Racing Hand – 7f

This can go to IDEAL GUEST, who has improved enormously since being fitter with a visor and has little difficulty in recording back-to-back wins at Brighton last time. He is forced to carry a six pounds penalty here but that shouldn’t be enough to prevent the hat-trick unless handicap debutant City Vaults is well-treated. I’ll stick with the former to make it three on the spin under Tom Queally.

Selections: IDEAL GUEST

20.45 – Coral Play ‘Racing-Super-Series’ For Free Handicap – 1m4f

A good race despite only three in the line-up. If CAIUS CHORISTER turns up in the same form as when winning by 19 lengths over C&D last week, then her two rivals could be in trouble. She’s going from strength-to-strength and while this race has more depth, she’s got to be considered for the four-timer. CABRAKAN won nicely last week too and is feared, whilst NIGHT EAGLE, who seeks a hat-trick cannot be discounted either in this tricky small-field contest.

Selections: CAIUS CHORISTER, CABRAKAN, NIGHT EAGLE
