17.40 – Boulton Group Handicap – 7f
The Kevin Ryan-trained MANASLU was suited to an aggressive ride when winning from the front at Carlisle last time and provided he handles the anticipated quicker ground here, he could score again. GOLDEN SANDS is consistent though, and has already won three times this year. He’s off a career-high mark but should remain competitive here.

18.15 – North West Trucks Restricted Novice Stakes (GBB Race) – 7f
MYSTICAL APPLAUSE shaped well when fourth on debut and got up within the shadows of the post to score by a neck at Salisbury when last spotted. He’s open to more improvement and has Hayley Turner doing the steering again, so he’s the one to beat. DUCHRAY is the most exposed runner in the field but anything Franny Norton rides around here can never be discounted and is next best.

18.50 – Mappin & Webb Handicap – 7f
ROUNDHAY PARK has run well and won over C&D here before and is a couple of pounds below his last winning mark. He’s drawn well in stall 1 and has Cieren Fallon in the saddle, so is respected. MANHATTANVILLE has knocked on the door the last two times and has a chance off this mark, while CASHEW could also feature off a tiny weight with Hayley Turner in the saddle.

19.25 – Envirosips EBF Fillies’ Handicap – 1m2f
TERRA MITICA wasn’t beaten far in her first couple of starts and opened her account in good style at Chelmsford last time when Ryan Moore was in the saddle. She makes her handicap debut off a lenient mark and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by stall 6 in this small field either, so gets the vote double her tally in this discipline.

20.00 – Mappin & Webb Claiming Stakes – 7f
BRAINS is very well-treated on his past form and shaped well when sixth on his return. He’s won three of his last six starts and went very close on his last start on the turf off a 3Ib lower mark. He should go close in this grade, while LIBERATION POINT was well beaten at Windsor last time but he’s more effective on better ground and could bounce back.

20.35 – Tomahawk Steakhouse Chester Handicap – 1m2f
LA PULGA split two horses rated 89 and 94 when second at Doncaster last year and while he’s failed to produce his best in both starts this year, he will appreciate the ease in grade and has decent claims. BOX TO BOX caught the eye when fifth in a valuable pot at Epsom on Derby Day last time and will find this easier off the same mark. He’s expected to feature.
