Catterick Place 6 Preview | 9th February

14.00 Racing To School Maiden Hurdle

The opener can go the way of FRISBY. He always runs well and came within a neck of victory when headed right on the post in a higher graded event over fences at Wetherby last time. Back over hurdles, off only a pound higher figure, with his sights lowered, Ben Haslam’s charge can register a first success.

Tips: FRISBY

FLORITA has looked like a transformed proposition since going chasing, winning two of her three starts and had so much up her sleeve when scoring at Market Rasen eight days ago. I see no reason why she can’t go close to adding another win in this sphere. The well treated INNISFREE LASS is feared most.

KINGSTON NARCISSUS is a consistent and likeable sort and was a very good winner at Sedgefield when last seen. The seven-year-old has plenty of smart form on soft ground and has finished no worse than third on all handicap outings, so he’s selected to make a serious impact.

Top weight IMPERIAL BEDE looked as though he retains most of his ability when fourth at Haydock three weeks ago following a layoff and is dropped into this grade for the first time in his career. He won by 13 lengths off an 11lb higher mark when last successful, so in the fitted cheekpieces, the eight-year-old appeals.

Tips: IMPERIAL BEDE

VANILLA DANCER keeps on finding a way to not score but she went very close when a neck-second at Doncaster last month and a 2lb rise shouldn’t prevent another bold bid. This isn’t a strong event, so this could be the perfect time for her to end the long losing sequence.

Tips: VANILLA DANCER

HAARAR has yet to finish out of the frame in well over a year now and comes into this event in seriously good form, winning his last two starts, including at Carlisle last week. Even under a 7lb penalty, last year’s winner looks capable of completing the hat trick.

Tips: HAARAR
