The persuasive option in the first race has to be Dan Skelton’s GLOBAL FAMENGLORY who has placed in four of her last five completed starts. Dropped in class from a 1Ib lower mark than last time, coupled with a good record fresh, she should take a bit of stopping as she searches for her first success.

Tips: GLOBAL FAMENGLORY

The eight-year-old and consistent, GUY, returned to winning ways very easily last time over hurdles and returns to chasing off a lenient mark off 122, which is 4Ib lower than when a solid fourth at Ascot in a better race on his last start in this sphere. He has placed multiple times off higher marks in this sphere over the last couple of seasons and should be difficult to beat. He should have the measure of Valentino Dancer, who won a race that distinctly fell apart last-time-out.

Tips: GUY

A decent race for the grade but CAPE VIDAL should take a bit of beating. He returned a good winner on debut before finishing third in a Listed event at Cheltenham next time. He travelled well for a long way en route to taking second on his hurdles debut and the Anthony Honeyball-trained six-year-old can open his account with that experience under his belt.

Tips: CAPE VIDAL

LE PATRON placed in three of his four handicap starts earlier this year over hurdles and could be the type to progress over the larger obstacles, so he’s included. RED WINDSOR has three placed efforts and a win from five starts at this course and should make a bold bid off top-weight under the services of Bryony Frost.

Tips: LE PATRON, RED WINDSOR

16.35 – Vickers.Bet Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

FIFTY BALL went very close here last time when marginally denied into second and a 2Ib rise is fair given he was rated in the 130s last year in this sphere. MR FREEDOM has been in excellent form on the Flat of late, winning three of his four starts and is down in grade back over hurdles since his placing at the Cheltenham Festival and Ascot. He makes plenty of appeal.

Tips: FIFTY BALL, MR FREEDOM

Course specialist TOAD OF TOAD HALL must have a good chance of making course win number four here being in receipt of weight from his market rivals. Two of his last three wins have come at this course and he should go close with plenty in his favour off a low-weight.

Tips: TOAD OF TOAD HALL
