Bangor Place 6 Preview | 6th February
13.25 Alfa Aggregates Products Mares’ Handicap Chase
FORTUNE DANCER extended her unbeaten chase record to three when scoring at Windsor last month and is the one to beat. However, LAGONDA is only 2lb higher than when last successful and has winning form over C&D as well. The winner is only to come from one of these two, though the other pair are not easily ruled out.
Tips: FORTUNE DANCER & LAGONDA
13.55 Xenon Workplace North Wales National Handicap Chase
In the North Wales National, I like JACKS PARROT. The seven-year-old placed in the Tommy Whittle at Haydock for the second year running when third, doing all of his best work late on. He’s dropped a pound since and is eased heavily in grade. He has done most of his racing in stronger company and he’s a pound lower than when going close (third) in last season’s Devon National at Exeter.
Tips: JACKS PARROT
14.25 Bangor-On-Dee EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle
Ben Jones has his only ride on the card aboard FOUR SPRINGS for Ben Pauling. The pair have had a tremendous season so far and this five-year-old has undergone wind surgery since finishing third at Market Rasen. Better was expected that day given the strong support and he had previously impressed on debut at Hereford.
Tips: FOUR SPRINGS
14.57 HRS Cladding Maiden Hurdle
BIG CADILLAC beat a smart prospect on bumper debut at Chepstow, and although he’s not made an impact in two hurdle starts, this is a good opportunity for him to succeed. Dan Skelton’s charge has plenty more to come and should be able to pose a threat on this occasion.
Tips: BIG CADILLAC
15.30 Hotel Wrexham Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
The Donald McCain-trained VOODOO ANGEL has run well to finish second the last two times and must be on the verge of opening her account under rules. With the exception of one other participant, she arrives in good form and this could be the time she gets the job done.
Tips: VOODOO ANGEL
16.05 Tom Jones Live At Chester Racecourse Handicap Hurdle
HE’S BRESILIAN is generally consistent and was far from disgraced when second at Ayr last time having previously won at Newcastle. He should be able to go well off only a 2lb higher mark, while SUPER FREDDIE should be able to improve on handicap debut seventh at Haydock and give the favourite something to think about.
Tips: HE’S BRESILIAN & SUPER FREDDIE
