NAZRON, TRILBY, JM JUNGLE, SHAGRAAN and AMERICAN AFFAIR all have the form to play a leading role as well.

MR KING has caught the eye several times off higher marks and should be spot on for this event following two encouraging runs so far this term. He ran really well off a 5lb higher mark last August over C&D when staying on strongly to finish seventh of 18. He is my main play, with OLD COCK, STANAGE, ROMIEU and SISYPHEAN others to note.

SEE THE FIRE is a confident choice to get back to winning ways. She has the best form in the book courtesy of her narrow second to Opera Singer in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes and warmed up for this with a decent fifth at Sandown on her return. With that outing under her belt, she can take this en route to bigger assignments.

THE LION IN WINTER was so impressive when slamming a quality field at this course last time out which featured the 2000 Guineas first (Ruling Court) and Wimbledon Hawkeye (fifth) and the step up in distance on his reappearance should bring about further improvement, so he’s very much the one to beat.

STAR OF MEHMAS has won three of her five outings, and with Ryan Moore booked to ride, this filly shouldn’t be underestimated. MR LIGHTSIDE represents last year’s winning stable and is another to consider alongside AESTERIUS.
