Worcester Place 6 betting preview | October 6th

14.06 – Gascentre Blast EBF Mares’ Novices’ Chase (GBB Race) – 2m4f

Selections: Rainyday Woman, Voice Of Calm

RAINYDAY WOMAN wasn’t at her best last-time-out but she produced some smart form over hurdles last season, winning three times, including a Listed race and could easily be an even better chaser. She’s a smart mare and is probably the one to beat here. VOICE OF CALM was also a smart hurdler and has the potential to be a very good chaser. She’s not dismissed here with her trainer in good form.

14.41 – Sooty Memorial Handicap Chase – 2m7f

Selections: Boagrius, Abaya Du Mathan

BOAGRIUS hasn’t won for a long time but has been solid in defeat this year and ran well when second over C&D six weeks ago. He remains on a career-low mark and could go one better in this race. ABAYA DU MATHAN isn’t the most consistent and fell early last-time-out but he’s back on his last winning mark and ran a half decent race when last seen at this course. David Pipe’s charge could be thereabouts off top-weight here.

15.16 – Cazoo Open Maiden NH Flat Race (GBB Race) – 2m

Selections: Ferret Jester, Mount Bonete

FERRET JESTER made a good start to his career when runner-up on debut and although this is a bit more competitive, this five-year-old should go very well here. MOUNT BONETE has a really nice pedigree and showed a fair amount of ability in points. He’s a very interesting newcomer for Chris Gordon, who does well in bumpers, and could be a big player.

15.51 – Get Pulling With PJ Nicholls SsangYong Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f

Selections: Love Actually, Debden Bank

LOVE ACTUALLY left her hurdles debut form behind when winning with lots to spare at Taunton in January. Her trainer is in good form and she should have more to come, so she merits consideration here. DEBDEN BANK has won four times over fences and has run with credit the last two times. He’s twelve pounds below his last winning mark and has a good chance of at least making the frame here. I think he’s got really solid claims.

16.30 – Cazoo Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) – 2m7f

Selections: High Stakes, Red Happy

HIGH STAKES pushed a good horse close on his hurdles debut last year and was in the process of running well in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle until falling at the last. He was pulled up in a Grade Two next time but that was a deep race and he gained a confidence-booster victory over course-and-distance last time. With more to come, in a race he might be able to dictate, he has an excellent chance. RED HAPPY bolted up at Southwell nine days ago and is an obvious threat.

17.05 – FBC Manby Bowdler EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) – 2m

Selections: Rare Edition

RARE EDITION won in very nice style on rules debut at Southwell back in April and connections have found him an excellent opportunity to make a winning hurdles debut here. This five-year-old brushed aside the talented Itso Fury, who subsequently won easily on hurdles debut, so Charlie Longsdon’s charge gets a confident vote to make a winning start in this sphere.
