ONE EVENING also shaped with promise on debut, finishing fourth at Doncaster, and this daughter of Galileo should improve and go well here.

BUGLE MAJOR has still yet to win a race in the UK but he’s lurking on a dangerous mark and given he regularly goes well on the AW and a top claimer is booked to ride, he should be about to strike. CULTURE is a four-time course winner and won over C&D last time. He should pose a threat given his past exploits off much higher marks.

Andrew Balding’s SYNDICATED is very well-bred and opened his account at the third time of asking at Wolverhampton when last spotted. He should improve for the step up in distance and is ideally drawn well in stall five. I think he’s the solid option to reach the frame at least with all the experience under his belt.

SUPREME KING was really disappointing at Leicester last time but had shown bundles of promise when runner-up in his first two starts against useful opponents. He’s been given a bit of a break since, which will have done him a lot of good, so he’s therefore selected to make no mistake and get his head in front here.

LIR SPECIALE has won two of his six starts this year and finished his race very strongly when third in a deeper race than this at Newcastle last time. He should improve for the step up in trip and has the potential to rank higher, so with more to come, Roger Varian’s charge is the one to side with here. AL SHIBLI was unlucky when second last time and should make an impact in first-time blinkers.

ACKLAM EXPRESS brings the best piece of form to the race courtesy of his third in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot and while he’s not been in the same form since, he could prove a class above these if fully effective on this surface. I fear MUTAFAWWIG, who’s defeat of Valiant Prince here last year is high-class form, as the second won a Listed race last time. He’s a big player dropped in grade from a Group One.
