Newmarket Place 6 betting preview | October 7th

13.50 – Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes (Group 3) – 5f

PRINCE OF PILLO has won three of his four starts and absolutely bolted up in a listed race at Ayr three weeks ago. He’s the one to beat, though RUMSTAR wasn’t beaten far when fourth in a Group Three last time in the all-weather and is reunited with Rob Hornby, who guided him to victory in a good race on his penultimate start.

Selections: Prince Of Pillo, Rumstar

14.25 – Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) – 7f

CRYSTALLIUM is an exciting filly, who’s won both her starts, and should have lots more to come up in grade, so she has to be considered here. SMALL OASIS ran well on debut before winning at the Curragh last time. She’s a danger to all in this line-up with lots more to offer.

Selections: Crystallium, Small Oasis

15.00 – Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes (Group 2) – 7f

SACRED got her career back on track when easily winning a listed race at Newbury three weeks ago and has winning form over this course and distance. She’s a high-class filly when everything goes to plan, as proven last time, and it’s hard not to see her involved here.

Selections: Sacred

15.35 – bet365 Fillies’ Mile (Group 1) – 1m

COMMISSIONING is a daughter of the high-class Kingman and having made an impressive start to her career on the July course here, she took the rise in grade easily when winning the Rockfel here two weeks ago. She should prove very hard to beat with lots in her favour.

Selections: Commissioning

16.10 – bet365 Old Rowley Cup Handicap (Heritage Handicap) – 1m4f

LA YAKEL has progressed with each start and was well in command of a good race at Ascot last time at the finish. He’s gone up five pounds but has every chance of completing the hat-trick here. Olivier Peslier travels over from France to ride CAIUS CHORISTER who wasn’t suited to soft ground last time and has a solid chance of making the frame now faced with better ground and this course likely to play to his strengths.

Selections: La Yakel, Caius Chorister

16.45 – Godolphin Under Starters Orders Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (GBB Race) (Div 1) – 7f

DREAM OF LOVE has a really nice pedigree and is related to the classy Mogul. Given her trainer has had another great season with his debutants, she could be a big player here. Ralph Beckett has also had a great season with his youngsters and therefore NIGIRI has to be given some consideration here.

Selections: Dream Of Love, Nigiri
