Windsor Win 6 Preview | 19th January
12.10 Hampton Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)
JINGKO BLUE has won three of his five starts and was extremely impressive when scoring on his chase debut at Cheltenham. With more to come, Nicky Henderson’s charge should prove hard to beat. LOWRY’S BAR has won his last two starts in this sphere, and this six-time winner is the biggest danger to the favourite.
Tips: JINGKO BLUE & LOWRY’S BAR
12.45 Fitzdares Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle
This can go the way of JUBILEE ALPHA, who produced a far more polished display when winning a Listed event at Taunton with loads in hand. Paul Nicholls’ mare sets the standard on that form, and this Grade 2 bumper runner-up is fancied to put her experience and fitness to good use by seeing off Khrisma.
Tips: JUBILEE ALPHA
13.20 Winter Million Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
The form of HARTINGTON’s latest one-length second to Honky Tonk Highway when conceding weight to the winner received a timely boost as the winner subsequently pushed a smart prospect extremely close here on Friday, and an opening mark of 117 must be really lenient on balance. ZANNDABAD has only found one too good on his last three starts over hurdles and should go well.
Tips: HARTINGTON & ZANNDABAD
13.55 Fitzdares Great Park Handicap Chase
This is very competitive, but given the Skelton’s were in good form here on Friday with a winner and three places, there’s a strong chance soft-ground lover ETALON will pose a serious threat off his low weight, being the choice of Harry Skelton instead of Unexpected Party. The consistent MATATA should make a bold bid off top weight.
Tips: ETALON & MATATA
14.30 Weatherbys Racing Bank Handicap Hurdle
I’m really interested in the claims of TITAN DISCOVERY, who did very well last season, winning twice and finishing second three times from six starts and surely has improvement to come as a second-season hurdler. The unbeaten MINELLA MISSILE and the well-treated DANS LE LENT are others to consider.
Tips: TITAN DISCOVERY, MINELLA MISSILE & DANS LE VENT
15.05 Fitzdares Fleur De Lys Chase
PROTEKTORAT was six lengths behind DJELO when runner-up in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon last time, but I’m hopeful the Ryanair Chase winner will be back to his best, returned to a left-handed track, and resume winning ways here. Irish raider JOURNEY WITH ME, Lucinda Russell’s AHOY SENOR, and the unexposed INDIANA DREAM are others to note.
Tips: DJELO, PROTEKTORAT, JOURNEY WITH ME, AHOY SENOR & INDIANA DREAM
