12.45 – Wincanton Novices’ Hurdle – 1m7f
LUMP SUM made an impressive start to his hurdling career when winning on the bridle at Ffos Las and has improvement to come. None of the rest have a comparable profile to the former, so the Sam Thomas-trained five-year-old should be hard to beat.

13.15 – Barrow ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – 3m
COOLEENYMORE has already posted some excellent efforts over hurdles and is effective on a soft surface, so she’s shortlisted. JOHNNY B is only 2Ib higher than when he scored at Chepstow. He was disappointing on his reappearance, but he should fare better here.

13.45 – Welham Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – 2m5f
DON’T RIGHTLY KNOW was impressive in similar conditions at Exeter last month, and despite conceding weight to all of these, she should be tough to beat. COUNTRY LADY looked every inch a stayer when third on her hurdles debut and should be suited to the step up in distance.

14.15 – Maperton Handicap Chase – 3m1f
RADDON TOP returned to form with a good second on his reappearance and has done most of his winning on a soft surface, so he’s a key player if he can back up that latest performance with plenty in his favour. GREAT NAME THAT has made the frame in four of his five starts over hurdles and could advance his form for the application of cheekpieces.

14.45 – Yarlington Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f
SIZING POTTSIE is well-handicapped off a mark of 122 and was only beaten half-a-length at Uttoxeter last time on his return. He has plenty of quality form on a similar surface and could outclass these. NO NO TONIC has C&D-winning form and ran well when third last time. She should be thereabouts.

15.15 – Woolston Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f
GROSVENOR COURT has a course record of 123 in three starts at this course and could get involved now that his sights are lowered for the first time. KINGOFTHEWEST should be going close off this mark, while FAME AND FUN won here off a 2Ib higher mark earlier this year. He merits consideration.
