Exeter Place 6 preview | 13th December

12.20 – Kenn Novices’ Hurdle – 2m5f

TOSS OF A COIN cost an expensive sum at the sales, and this stiff test of stamina should suit this hurdle debutant. He could be hard to beat for the champion trainer, Paul Nicholls. His stablemate KRUGER PARK has been well beaten in both starts this season but is the obvious alternative in the opener.

Tips: TOSS OF A COIN, KRUGER PARK

12.50 – Trusham Novices’ Handicap Chase – 3m

LOCK OUT won his first couple of starts under rules, and although he’s been winless since, this six-year-old remains open to improvement over fences. MORMON is very well-handicapped on the pick of his form in Ireland, while recent Lingfield second WILLIAMDECONQUERER could go one better with a repeat performance.

Tips: LOCK OUT, MORMON, WILLIAMDECONQUEROR

13.20 – Bickham House ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m

It is hard to oppose the Paul Nicholls-trained DON’T TELL SU, who chased home a subsequent Grade 2 winner when second on his Chepstow hurdle debut. This race is so much easier, so it would come as a major surprise if this five-year-old wasn’t able to outclass these with bigger assignments to come.

Tips: DON’T TELL SU

13.50 – Christow Handicap Chase – 2m3f

SIR PHYCHO looked better than ever when making a successful stable debut at Ascot, where he travelled and jumped well to beat a subsequent winner. He has solid claims in his follow-up bid, while BENNY’S KING will be suited to conditions and could emerge as the main danger.

Tips: SIR PHYCHO, BENNYS KING

14.20 – Higher Ashton Handicap Hurdle – 2m2f

BERT WILSON won a pair of handicaps earlier this year and is only a few pounds higher than the latest of those wins, so he could get back on track. DAANY finished second off a really low mark last time, but Harry Cobden is booked to ride, so another bold effort is anticipated.

Tips: BERT WILSON, DAANY

14.50 – Haldon Stayers’ Crown Handicap Chase – 3m6f

BROOMFIELD PRESENT promises to be suited by this stamina test, given that he hit the line strongly on his chase debut over a shorter trip here in his penultimate start. The seven-year-old makes plenty of appeal. FOXBORO is back on his last winning mark and is another who could derive a step up in trip.

Tips: BROOMFIELD PRESENT, FOXBORO
