Uttoxeter Place 6 preview | 19th September

14.00 – quinnbet.com Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

ALIOSKI arrives into the race in good form having placed over hurdles and on the flat and split two higher-rated horses when second at Worcester. He is dropped in grade from an unchanged mark and if he stays this longer trip, he must have excellent claims. SIR JACK WEST is only 3Ib above his last winning mark and could go well, while the in-form BLUEBELLA completes the shortlist.

Tips: ALIOSKI, SIR JACK WEST, BLUEBELLA

14.35 – JAL Roofing Novices’ Hurdle – 1m7f

JEUDIDEE won on his debut at Worcester and although he was down the field next time, he made a smooth-winning hurdles debut at Worcester three weeks ago, where he travelled and jumped well and scored by three lengths. I think he is the one to beat. OLIVERS TRAVELS has won three of his four starts under rules and also scored very easily at Worcester last time. I can see him running well.

Tips: JEUDIDEE, OLIVERS TRAVELS

15.10 – Recticel Insulation Handicap Chase – 3m

REBEL LEADER is a bit of a speculative vote, who I know has been well held the last twice but is 8Ib below his last winning mark and has run well at this course in the past. YA KNOW YASEFF has improved for the fitting of blinkers the last twice and it’s likely she remains ahead of her mark in her hat-trick attempt. She must have every chance with more to come in a race where plenty of her opposition ran poorly last time.

Tips: REBEL LEADER, YA KNOW YASEFF

15.45 – QuinnBet Handicap Chase – 3m

ANY NEWS gained reward for his consistency when opening his account in this sphere at Worcester last time by 10 lengths. He was rated as high as 141 last year, so a 6Ib rise for that easy win last time is unlikely to stop him from going close to repeating success here. I wouldn’t rule out JESUITIQUE though, who ran well when second on his chase debut and this three-time hurdle winner could go one better if he can build on that latest good effort in defeat.

Tips: ANY NEWS, JESUITIQUE

16.20 – Daniel Porter’s 40th Birthday Celebration Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f

IP UP achieved a useful level of form when trained in France by David Cottin and an opening mark of 111 on her British/stable debut is lenient. She should be ready for this and can have a say in the outcome. ISABELLA BAE scored easily over C&D last week and should be difficult to beat given she escapes a penalty and is open to further progress off bottom-weight.

Tips: IP UP, ISABELLA BAE

16.55 – QuinnBet Daily Free Bet Handicap Hurdle – 2m3f

It’s been nearly two years since we last saw IBBENBUREN but he did win two of his four starts in 2021, placing in the other two, and an opening handicap debut mark of 109 is more than within his capabilities if he can continue where he left off. PRESENTING PETE won a decent prize over C&D three weeks ago and a 5Ib rise seems tolerable with Brian Hughes retained to ride. He should be competitive.

Tips: IBBENBUREN, PRESENTING PETE
