A DIFFERENT KIND hasn’t produced his best in two starts over fences but he has time on his side and a repeat of his hurdles form in this sphere would be enough to succeed. SILVER SHEEN is rated the same as the former and could step up on his previous chase effort and figure. DONNIE AZOFF has a bit to find with his two rivals based on marks but gets a lot of weight.

Tips: A DIFFERENT KIND, SILVER SHEEN, DONNIE AZOFF

The Jack Jones-trained OLD SCHOLAR is getting better with every start in this sphere and goes in search of a hat-trick of wind having won at Warwick before following up over track and trip when last spotted. His main danger is probably Liverpool Knight, who is rated much higher than him on the Flat, but the former has taken much better to hurdles and is fancied to bring up the three-timer.

Tips: OUR SCHOLAR

WALK OF NO SHAME has returned a beaten favourite twice over hurdles already but she would have finished a lot closer without a mistake at the third last hurdle. Her mark has resulted in a two pound rise but she is surely better than this mark and her win at Lingfield back in February proved how good she is. She is fancied to gain a second win over hurdles.

Tips: WALK OF NO SHAME

BUTLER’S BRIEF has something to prove at the moment having trailed home last of five at Worcester but he won a higher-grade race over course-and-distance last July off a five pounds higher mark and a reproduction of that performance in this race would surely see him too good for these. The top-weight should be able to bounce back in these calmer waters.

Tips: BUTLER’S BRIEF

ARBENNIG is the persuasive option in this race, who’s the most consistent of these and deservedly opened his account over course-and-distance just under three weeks ago, winning by 12 lengths. A seven pound rise for that success is very fair on balance and he gets the vote to double his tally over timber.

Tips: ARBENNIG

It’s been a while since WHAT WILL BE last got his head in front but the blinkers perked him up a bit when second over course-and-distance and is a player if able to back that up here. I will also add in ROCK ON TOMMY, who I know has been below par of late but won off a much higher mark last June and could go well at a big price if able to stage a revival.

Tips: WHAT WILL BE, ROCK ON TOMMY
