Southwell Place 6 preview | 8th February

13.35 – Download The Vickers.Bet App Handicap Chase – 2m4f

TEMPLIER got back on track when second last time and finds himself only a pound below his last winning mark, so he has to be respected in this weak race. QUIET FLOW has made the frame in three of his last four starts and it seems only a matter of time before he comes good in this sphere. Two against the field in the opener.

Selections: TEMPLIER, QUIET FLOW

14.05 – Vickers.Bet Handicap Chase – 1m7f

HERE WE HAVE IT stayed on strongly to score over C&D when last seen and although he has a 4Ib higher mark to overcome in this race, he could be set to follow-up here. ONESOC won here over hurdles and given he has received a lot of market support in both his chase starts, this could be the day he delivers the goods.

Selections: HERE WE HAVE IT, ONESOC

14.40 – Follow Us At vickers.bet Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f

ANGELS LANDING made the frame in all completed starts in this sphere last season and looks well-treated on that evidence. This mare should be thereabouts, while AT A PINCH won on her hurdles debut last term and should be fitter after a recent spin on the Flat following her return over hurdles when fourth. She could have a major role to play in this race.

Selections: ANGELS LANDING, AT A PINCH

15.10 – Join The Vickers.Bet Free Bet Club Maiden Hurdle

This race can go to BOOK OF SECRETS, who has made the frame in a pair of juvenile hurdle events, and brings the best form to the table. He hasn’t been seen for a long time but this isn’t a strong race and the Skelton’s are enjoying a great season again. He was decent on the Flat and even if his fitness unexpectedly catches him out, he should be more than capable of making the frame.

Selections: BOOK OF SECRETS

15.40 – Vickers.Bet Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle

The Stuart Edmunds-trained SEDGE WREN shaped with loads of promise when third in both her bumper starts, including in a class two event at Cheltenham, and while her jumping wasn’t foot-perfect on hurdles debut, she still got the job done. She has a penalty to carry here and won’t afford to make too many mistakes against Chosen Port, but is still of strong interest and is the one to beat.

Selections: SEDGE WREN

16.10 – Vickers.Bet Independent Family Owned Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle

Despite the large quantity of numbers, the in-form ROGER RAREBIT is taken to gain a second win in this sphere. He won in great style last week and is the only one of these to arrive with a consistent profile, so it’s hard to overlook his credentials. I will also cover KINGSFORT HILL, who wasn’t disgraced on handicap debut last time and could go well at double-figure odds.

Selections: ROGER RAREBIT, KINGSFORT HILL
