Perth Place 6 Preview | 22nd April

13.40 Welcome To The Perth Festival Maiden Hurdle

GEE FORCE FLYER should be able to take care of his rivals in the opener. He was last seen running an eye-catching race to finish third in the EBF Final on handicap debut at Sandown and that is by far the best form on offer. I’ll be slightly disappointed if he can’t see off his nearest market rival.

Tips: GEE FORCE FLYER

14.10 Balnakeilly Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

WOLFBURG won with loads in hand at Carlisle last month and must have every chance of going in again. He’s been hit with an 11lb rise as a result but he is in receipt of weight from all rivals and has more to come. WALKING ON A DREAM was an easy winner at Ayr when last seen and is worth a chance in this higher grade race.

Tips: WOLFBURG & WALKING ON A DREAM

14.40 British EBF Gold Castle ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle

It all went wrong for NO DRAMA THIS END at Cheltenham but he’s been given plenty of time since and retains potential, so this Grade 1 winner should be able to resume winning ways. I do think SOGNA IN GRANDE is overpriced though, as he’s unbeaten in two starts and is well worth his place in this grade. He’s an outsider worthy of a second look.

Tips: NO DRAMA THIS END & SOGNA IN GRANDE

15.10 Fair Maid Of Perth Mares’ Chase

PANIC ATTACK took a tumble in the Grand National, but provided she’s over that mishap, she should be able to get back to winning ways with a clear round. SHECOULDBEANYTHING might emerge as the bigger danger. She disappointed in the Irish National but has a good record in small-field events and is likely to capitalise if the favourite underperforms.

Tips: PANIC ATTACK & SHECOULDBEANYTHING

15.40 Bedmax Capercaillie Handicap Chase

FRINGILL DIKE has become so well handicapped on historical form being 15lb lower than when last successful and has gone well after a break, so he’s of interest. The likes of HELTENHAM and THE OTHER MOZZIE are others to consider in this wide-open contest. They have the form and class to make a serious impact, so I’ll hope one of the trio can get the job done.

Tips: FRINGILL DIKE, HELTENHAM & THE OTHER MOZZIE

16.10 Scone Palace Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

FLYING FORTUNE has failed to beat a rival on his last two starts since returning from an absence, and maybe he’s not the same horse, but he’s a Grade 2 winner over timber. If he can recapture his best, I’m sure he’s capable off this handy mark of 122. JUST AN ARTIST shaped well when third off this figure last time out and is another to consider.

Tips: FLYING FORTUNE & JUST AN ARTIST
