Perth Place 6 preview | 19th August

14.15 – Defender Blair Castle Horse Trials Maiden Hurdle – 2m

Olivers Travels won both his bumpers impressively and could take some beating here but I’ll pin my hopes on HAREL DU MARAIS hitting the frame and hope the favourite underperforms. He ran well in a much stronger race over C&D when third last time and should be good enough to go well in the opener.

Tips: HAREL DU MARAIS

14.45 – SPM Scotland Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 2m4f

None of the quartet can be ruled out. A DIFFERENT KIND has got better and better with each start over fences and has won his last two starts in good style. He should be hard to beat in his hat-trick bid. CHAMP DE GANE has made the frame in all of his last four starts and should be thereabouts with a good rider taking off 5Ib, while BREAD AND BUTTER and SILVER SHEEN have chances on their best form too.

Tips: A DIFFERENT KIND, CHAMP DE GANE, BREAD AND BUTTER, SILVER SHEEN

15.20 – Scone Estates Stone Of Destiny Handicap Hurdle – 2m

TOO FRIENDLY has made a positive start for this stable, winning twice and did very well in winning the Summer Hurdle last-time-out. Even with his 5Ib rise, he should be competitive. WELL PLANTED, however, has a good record at this venue and returned a comfortable winner over C&D last time. This is a stronger race but he could raise his game.

Tips: TOO FRIENDLY, WELL PLANTED

15.55 – Bet In-Running On Racings At BetVictor Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f

DALILEO might only have one win to his name but that did come at this course and he has put in two good shifts the last twice in finishing second over C&D. He might go one better with more to come, while MONOXIDE has a poor strike-rate but he could go well as connections wouldn’t be bringing him over here for the day out.

Tips: DALILEO, MONOXIDE

16.30 – Glenfarclas Handicap Chase – 2m7f

It should pay to side with JUDGE EARLE who has won his last two starts from the front and remains well-handicapped on the pick of last year’s form. If he can keep up his run of form, he might emerge as the winner despite his big weight. CASTLETOWN was only denied by half-a-length here last time but is clearly back to his best and is feared most.

Tips: JUDGE EARLE, CASTLETOWN

17.06 – perthlodge.co.uk Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f

BORN FAMOUS is a mare going places and has been in unbelievable form since joining this stable. She completed her five-timer when taking the Summer Plate last time where herself and jockey Harry Cobden were fantastic. This is an easier race and despite it being over hurdles, she should take the world of beating.

Tips: BORN FAMOUS
