16.30 – Family Fun Evening Novices’ Hurdle – 2m3f THE GALAHAD KID won both bumper starts last summer and although he was turned over on his hurdles debut when second, he went one better next time.

Perth Place 6 preview | 19th August
14.15 – Defender Blair Castle Horse Trials Maiden Hurdle – 2m Olivers Travels won both his bumpers impressively and could take some beating here but I’ll pin my hopes on HAREL DU MARAIS hitting the frame and hope the favourite underperforms.

Maguire would be a much better fit at West Ham
Harry Maguire’s Manchester United career ultimately became a pantomime. This was evident throughout pre-season when the 30-year-old was frequently booed and jeered by his own supporters. Every mistake made by Maguire added to the evidence that doesn’t have the skill set to play for Erik Ten Hag’s team.

-
Haydock Place 6 preview | 12th August
14.25 – Betfred ‘Play Fred’s 5 Million’ Handicap – 1m THE TURPINATOR has yet to fire in three starts this year but is 5Ib below his last winning mark and could go well at a price.
-
Pontefract Place 6 preview | 9th August
14.20 – Solutions4Cleaning Handicap – 1m2f JUST HISS is generally consistent at this level and has gone close the last two times after winning at Newcastle the time before that. He might have won last time with a clear run so compensation could await him, while THE NEW MARWAN cashed-in on his reduced mark to score at Wolverhampton last time and has won on the turf off a higher mark before, so he is feared.
