Newton Abbot Place 6 Preview | 13th July
14.42 Racing To School Reaches 250,000 Handicap Chase
This is a good opportunity for GORE POINT to make it three wins on the bounce. He won very easily over C&D last time out and a 6lb seems hardly enough to prevent him from going in again. He can see off his two opponents while the iron remains hot.
Tips: GORE POINT
15.12 Sun Racing The Home Of Racing Maiden Hurdle
Debutant JASPER GLORY is related to several winners and might be able to make a winning start given God Of Fire hasn’t been seen for a very long time. The other two haven’t done enough to suggest they will be winning soon, so Skelton’s charge could be the answer.
Tips: JASPER GLORY
15.42 Racing Club Handicap Hurdle
I quite like GET THE VALUE. He won over C&D last summer off a mark of 100, so he’s undoubtedly well treated off 92 at present and his latest third was step back in the right direction. If building on that, then a return to winning ways could be on the cards.
Tips: GET THE VALUE
16.12 Racing Club Handicap Hurdle
A decent race this is, with the vote going to LIMERICK LEADER. He’s not been out of the frame since May last year, and although his latest effort here was a little below par, it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back to his best. He can go well under James Bowen.
Tips: LIMERICK LEADER
16.42 William Hill Handicap Chase
A chance is taken on PRESENTANDCOUNTING, who is very well handicapped, and is 2lb lower than when scoring in July last year. His last couple of starts have been fairly solid and overall his record in small-runner events is good, so the top-weight can make a bold bid.
Tips: PRESENTANDCOUNTING
17.15 Savanna Stevens Open NH Flat Race
PARK HALL made a winning start under rules over track and trip last month and looks capable of doubling her tally. Her handler does well with similar types and she looks the type that can rank higher, so she’s the one to side with.
Tips: PARK HALL
