Newmarket Place 6 betting preview | October 19th

13.20 – Discover Newmarket Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes – 7f

TWILIGHT KISS shaped very well when fourth on debut at Chelmsford and given that race has worked out strongly since, this son of Twilight Son has to be considered here. Andrew Balding’s HOPEFUL is related to some very good horses and is bred to be useful, so she could be a huge player on debut.

Selections: Twilight Kiss, Hopeful

13.55 – Discover Newmarket Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes – 7f

Selections: Silver Nightfall, Peace Of Mine

The form of SILVER NIGHTFALL’s promising second at Yarmouth on debut has worked out well with subsequent winners emerging from behind since. She has every chance of going one better here. PEACE OF MINE beat a next-time-out winner on debut at Salisbury and wasn’t beaten far when fifth in a stronger event last time at Chelmsford. Her experience will stand her in good stead here.

14.25 – Stephen Rowley Remembered Novice Stakes – 7f

As always, these events are always tough to solve but GREEK ORDER gets the vote. He couldn’t justify favouritism on debut but still ran well to finish third and is open to considerable improvement. Ryan Moore has been retained to ride and it would therefore be a shock if Roger Charlton’s charge couldn’t go close to opening his account at the second time of asking here.

Selections: Greek Order

15.00 – Home Of Racing Maiden Stakes  – 1m2f

SIR LAURENCE GAFF remains winless after four starts but has put together a sequence of good efforts in defeat and Ryan Moore has been booked to ride this time round, who could get a bit more improvement out of him here. This track should play to his strengths and it’s hard to see him out of the frame despite plenty of dangers lurking amongst the opposition in this tricky race.

Selections: Sir Laurence Graff

15.35 – British EBF Future Stayers Nursery – 1m2f

STRUTH made a successful debut in good style in 8-runner maiden at Nottingham and made a bold bid from the front when third at Epsom in his follow-up bid next time. He had Castle Way well-held in behind that day on one pound worse terms, so I’m not sure why the latter is shorter in the betting for this race. With this in mind, and with more to come, Mark Johnston’s charge looks great value to confirm the form here.

Selections: Struth

16.10 – Racing TV Fillies’ Handicap – 1m

DON’T TELL CLAIRE could only finish down the field at Newcastle last time but had been in good form prior to that effort and could bounce back here. LIGHT OF PEACE has made the frame in all three starts to date and makes her handicap debut off a nice mark, so gets the second choice.

Selections: Don’t Tell Claire, Light Of Peace
