Newcastle Betting Tips

16.30 – Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap – 1m4f

An interesting opener with the vote in favour of MADEEH who clocked the best time figure of these over C&D when scoring here 19 days ago. He beat a horse now rated 86 on that occasion and is strongly fancied to go in again from only a 5Ib higher mark against weaker opposition.

Of the others, SHARP SUITED won at the first time of asking over C&D and his last two performances can be upgraded. Representing a yard who does well at this venue, he’s of interest in this tightly-knit contest.

Selections: MADEEH, SHARP SUITED

17.00 – Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Fillies’ Novice Stakes – 1m

William Haggas boasts an excellent strike-rate at this track and, with that in mind, SKULK is fancied to double her tally for the campaign on the back of a comprehensive success last month. The runner-up advertised the strength of the form by winning next-time-out, so the daughter of Kingman will be tough to beat.

Selections: SKULK

17.30 – Bombardier Golden Beer Handicap – 7f

ULSHAW BRIDGE has been in good form of late, winning once and placing three times in four of his last five starts. He remains well treated on previous form, notably when third here a couple of years ago from a 7Ib higher mark.

TADLEEL is only 4Ib higher than when successful over C&D last year and posted a good second when last seen. He must enter calculations from the same mark here.

DAAFR arrives in rude health having completed a hat-trick in January and lost little in defeat when narrowly beaten just 4 days ago. I think he will go close again off an unchanged mark.

Selections: ULSHAW BRIDGE, TADLEEL, DAAFR

18.00 – Betway Handicap – 5f

OUTRAGE finally got his head in front last time following a string of second placed efforts and although burdened with top-weight, he’s expected to be in the firing line once more with Richard Kingscote, who was onboard for that victory, taking the saddle again.

EL HOMBRE wasn’t far behind Outrage last time and is a couple of pounds better off at the weights. The seven-year-old has won and been placed off tougher marks in better company in the past and a feared most on a much-reduced mark under Luke Morris.

Selections: OUTRAGE, EL HOMBRE

18.30 – Betway Casino Handicap – 6f

NICK VEDDER maintained his good run of form when keeping on nicely to finish second 9 days ago and it’s interesting to see connections deploy the first-time visor. He’s a leading player.

MEDICINE JACK hasn’t won for quite sometime but is astonishingly well-handicapped on historical form given he’d won a listed event and placed off higher marks in the high 80’s and 90’s when trained in Ireland. He’s no forlorn hope to get involved.

FENDALE is another runner on a long losing run but has run respectable races of late to suggest his turn might be near. He may well capitalise on his career-low mark at a price.

Selections: NICK VEDDER, MEDICINE JACK, FENDALE

19.00 – Read Katie Walsh On Betway Insider Handicap – 6f

It’s significant to note that Tony Hamilton is reunited with former smart handicapper PADDY POWER, who drops into this grade for the first time in his career. He’s 17Ib below his last winning mark and won’t get any better opportunities to bag another success now an eight-year-old.

GIGI’s BEACH was a good second over C&D 19 days ago and holds each-way claims from only a 2Ib higher mark in this weak affair.

Selections: PADDY POWER, GIGI’S BEACH
