12.15 – Michael Oliver Memorial Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f
RAMO has markedly improved his form since stepping up in distance to three miles, which has culminated in two wins and two placed efforts. He drops in class ahead of his return and should be thereabouts. THE BOMBER LISTON has yet to win in a handicap but is well-treated and cannot be ruled out, while MAHLER MOON could advance his form on his handicap debut.

12.50 – Rea Valley Tractors Juvenile Hurdle – 1m7f
The only two last-time-out winners, Balboa and BOOK OF TALES, deserve the utmost respect, with preference for the latter, who made a successful start over hurdles at Fontwell in August. He made a subsequent winner look ordinary and is open to improvement. He is Charlie Longsdon’s only runner on the card and could have too much pace for his market rival. BOOK OF TALES IS A NON-RUNNER. Replacement – BALBOA

13.25 – Ludlow Racecourse Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f
TIGHTENOURBELTS has improved with each start over hurdles and trounced his opponents by 18 lengths at Ludlow when last spotted. He looks like the ideal type to advance his form over fences, so he goes on the shortlist. Of the remainder, WASHINGTON is interesting, who placed at Aintree off a 2Ib higher mark and could plant himself in the picture.

14.00 – Andy Parker Memorial Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m5f
BETWEEN WATERS was heavily supported ahead of her debut at Ascot, and although she could only finish midfield, she shaped with promise. With her sights set on hurdles, she should be capable of making a bigger impact. I will also feature the Alan King-trained GIRLS IN SKIRTS on the list. She didn’t look short of ability when third on debut and could pose a threat.

14.35 – NFU Mutual Novices’ Handicap Chase – 1m7f
HUNTER LEGEND ran his best race to date, finishing second at Ffos Las last time behind a next-time-out winner, and Venetia Williams’ charge should fruition now that he is switched to the larger obstacles. A clear round should see him extremely competitive, while GO FOX is only a pound above his last winning mark and could go well after a break. He cannot be taken lightly, despite his recent run of form.

15.10 – Templar Medical ‘Introductory’ Hurdle – 2m5f
THE DOYEN CHIEF made a successful start under Rules in a Hereford bumper, in which he looked very professional for a debutant and is interestingly stepped up in distance ahead of his hurdles debut. Alan King’s charge is fancied to retain his unbeaten record under Tom Bellamy.
