Wincanton Place 6 preview | 11th November

12.40 – EBF Stallions ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle – 1m7f

MEATLOAF won his debut here impressively before acquitting himself well when second in a listed race at Cheltenham. He kicked off his last campaign with another win here and should take a lot of beating on his hurdles debut for a stable that has a good record in this contest.

Tips: MEATLOAF

13.15 – Boodles Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f

ANOTHER CRICK is a course winner who signed off last season with success at Warwick and merits consideration on his reappearance. Of the remainder, ENJOY YOUR LIFE should go well off a tiny weight, while MIDNIGHT MIDGE won over C&D in his penultimate start and is feared most after a pipe-opener just under three weeks ago.

Tips: ANOTHER CRICK, ENJOY YOUR LIFE, MIDNIGHT MIDGE

13.50 – Boodles ‘Rising Stars’ Novices’ Chase – 2m4f

KNAPPERS HILL is the best horse in the race, who was the best of these over hurdles and made a promising chase debut when second at Chepstow. He is the one to beat. However, GIVEGA could give him something to think about: who jumps well, and that should come into play now that he tackles fences. Gary Moore clearly holds him in high esteem, so he is shortlisted.

Tips: KNAPPERS HILL, GIVEGA

14.25 – 62nd Badger Beer Handicap Chase – 3m1f

SAM BROWN was unlucky not to collect a valuable pot in Ireland on his final start, where he showed some real class and looked set to beat some good horses under a big weight before he came down at the second last. He ran well on his return last season in the Charlie Hall when third and is a serious player. THE BIG BREAKAWAY only a pound higher than when second in the Welsh National at Chepstow and is another to consider for his in-form handler.

Tips: SAM BROWN, THE BIG BREAKAWAY

15.00 – JenningsBet Elite Hurdle – 1m7f

HANSARD wasn’t beaten far when he finished fourth in a Grade 1 race at Aintree last time, and he has a much better chance than his rating suggests. I am pretty sure he will get the required strong pace with RUBAUD in the field, who is likely to adopt his front-running tactics. Paul Nicholls’ charge made a successful reappearance and is the biggest danger.

Tips: HANSARD, RUBAUD

15.32 – JenningsBet Richard Barber Memorial Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m5f

GREAT SNOW finished no worse than third in all six of her hurdle starts for her previous handler and might have found a good opportunity to make a successful debut for Harry Fry. She is on a dangerous mark, and even if she finds one too good, she should still be good enough to fill the frame.

Tips: GREAT SNOW
