OWER STARLIGHT is proving consistent of late and lost little in defeat when second last time, beaten just a short head. A similar showing in this race should see him hard to beat, while BLUE COLLAR LAD went close at this course last time and is a lower this time round, so he’s recognised as the biggest danger.

STARSHIBA has become dangerously well-treated, as he’s now thirteen poised lower than when successful last year. He went close off this mark last time and should again be competitive here, while AJRAD made it two wins from his last four starts over C&D last time and should go well despite going up three pounds.

SOUTH DAKOTA SIOUX ran a solid race in defeat here last week behind Pocket The Packet who goes in the next race and should stay this longer distance. Hubert’s Dream is going to be tough to beat but if the favourite underperforms, David O’Meara’s charge is the most likely rival to pick up the pieces.

I think he’ll be tough to keep out of the frame, so is the banker on today’s preview to hopefully get us through to the next race.

He’s now down to 83 whilst still running to a good standard and should go close, while EMPEROR SPIRIT is well-treated and should go very well from the front.
