Lingfield Place 6 preview | 7th April

13.30 – BetUK All-Weather Vase Apprentice Handicap

PIRATE KING likes it here with 4 wins from 12 starts and saves his best for this distance, so he could outrun his odds. SAUSALITO has won 5 of his 7 starts on the all-weather, 3 of his 4 starts at this course and 2 of his 4 starts over this distance. He could go well at large odds. While IDEE FIXEE has finished second in all five starts and is a player. Ian’ Williams DREAM HARDER is also included.

Selections: PIRATE KING, SAUSALITO, IDEE FIXEE, DREAM HARDER

14.05 – BetUK All-Weather Vase Marathon Handicap

EHTEYAT is 2 from 4 on the surface and has the assistance of William Buick, so he could go well from a nice draw in stall 7.  HAKU won three on the spin before two placed efforts this year and merits consideration, while Willie Mullins interestingly sends over MR ESCOBAR, who gets the assistance of Ryan Moore. This is tougher than last time but he’s a serious player on his handicap debut.

Selections: EHTEYAT, HAKU, MR ESCOBAR

14.40 – Spreadex Sports All Weather Vase Mile Handicap

MULGRAVE arrives on the back of three wins on the spin and even though this is much deeper than last time, he has to be shortlisted with every chance he will complete the four-timer. FINAL VOYAGE has three wins over this trip in the UK and has been running well in Ireland since. Johnny Murtagh’s charge should be in the mix, while the unbeaten BREWING could prove to be better than this mark and Ryan Moore rides.

Selections: MULGRAVE, FINAL VOYAGE, BREWING

15.15 – BetUK All-Weather Vase Sprint Handicap

SHALAA ASKER has a good record on this surface, over this distance, and has won three of his last five starts. He gets the services of Ryan Moore and could find more improvement to be involved in the finish. TOLSTOY has fallen to an attractive mark and is 10Ib below his last successful mark. He has frame possibilities at least with Rossa Ryan in the saddle.

Selections: SHALAA ASKER, TOLSTOY

15.50 – BetUK All-Weather Vase Middle Distance Handicap

Mick Appleby’s WAR IN HEAVEN has 6 wins from 8 starts on the all-weather and is unbeaten in two starts at this course. He is drawn well in stall 6 and should be able to make an impact.  Of the others, DEMBE has two wins at this course and the booking of Jamie Spencer is interesting indeed. Drawn well in stall 2, he shouldn’t be far away having gone close here two starts ago.

Selections: WAR IN HEAVEN, DEMBE

16.25 – talkSPORT All-Weather Vase Fillies’ Handicap

SAYIFYOUWILL is a three-time C&D winner and although she only scrambled home by a neck here last time, another bold bid looks firmly on the cards. SPRING PROMISE might have been let in lightly on her handicap debut for the boys in blue. She has more to offer and won here last time.

Selections: SAYIFYOUWILL, SPRING PROMISE
