Huntingdon Place 6 betting preview | October 4th

13.05 – Welcome Back To Huntingdon Racecourse Juvenile Hurdle (GBB Race) – 1m7f

EXCITING NEWS showed some decent form on the Flat and made no mistake on hurdles debut in a class two event ten days ago. He looks a nice prospect for the Skelton’s and given this race looks a tad weaker than last time, he can remain unbeaten and make it two-from-two.

Selections: Exciting News, Graffiti

13.40 – Phillip Youle Memorial Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m7f

JEAN GENIE has yet to win over jumps but has a good record fresh and has been running consistently in defeat this year. Off an attractive mark, he’s a key player on these terms. I wouldn’t rule out GETTHEPOT though, who won well on his chase debut and while he fell when last spotted, he’s a major threat to all if none the worse for that latest mishap.

Selections: Jean Genie, Getthepot

14.15 – Skomal Memorial Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) – 1m7f

COLLECTORS ITEM is related to some really nice types, including Royal Kahala, and showed plenty of promise when half-a-length second in a Newbury bumper on Rules debut in March. The form looks really solid as the horse back in third, Hardy Fella, who was well held, ran well when fourth in a hot bumper at Cheltenham (only just behind Aucunrisque). He should take all the beating on his hurdles debut.

Selections: Collectors Item

14.50 – Clive Graham Memorial Handicap Hurdle – 3m1f

MOON KING won in good style at Worcester when last spotted and while he’s been hit with a four pounds rise, he still merits consideration in what is another winnable opportunity. JEN’S BOY was awarded the race last time having been bumped on the run-in and although he’s also been with a rise in the weights, he should be thereabouts.

Selections: Moon King, Jen’s Boy

15.25 – Racing TV Handicap Chase – 2m3f

PENS MAN was unfortunately bought down at the first fence last time but he’s won three of his five completed starts in this sphere and could make amends with a clear round. Stablemate JOLY MAKER has a good record with his seven pounds claimer and this course and distance winner should go well with the return to this longer distance in his favour.

Selections: Pens Man, Joly Maker

16.00 – Boxing Day On Sale Now Handicap Hurdle (Div 1) – 2m3f

MOLE COURT hasn’t made any impact in all starts to date but Ben Pauling’s team are going well and he could feature in this weak race on handicap debut. SPARKLING DAWN performed with credit when third here two starts ago and again ran well when second last time. She’s a player.

Selections: Mole Court, Sparkling Dawn
