Kelso Place 6 preview | 4th March

13.15 – bet365 Cyril Alexander Memorial Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 2m5f

SHOLOKJACK scored with plenty in hand on just second start over fences last time and, with even more to come, Dan Skelton’s charge is the one to beat. GAILLIMH A STOR ran a respectable race behind two nice horses and if he sharpens up his jumping, the seven-year-old could pose a threat off a workable mark.

Selections: SHOLOKJACK, GAILLIMH A STOR

13.50 – bet365 Morebattle Hurdle – 2m

TRITONIC is four pounds lower than when winning the Grade 3 Betfair Exchange handicap at Ascot back in December 2021 and he caught the eye in the Betfair Hurdle last time when midfield. He is his trainer’s only runner on the card and his jockeys only ride here too, so he could go well at big odds. TEDDY BLUE ran well to finish third in the Betfair Hurdle and holds solid claims.

Selections: TRITONIC, TEDDY BLUE

14.25 – bet365 Premier Novices’ Hurdle – 2m2f

NEMEAN LION is my only pick in this race and Kerry Lee’s charge has strong enough form to go close. He was third in a Grade 1 last time and he is open to plenty more improvement in this sphere. He sets the standard and is an attractive price and should get a nice pace to aim allied to tackling better conditions than last time. He should be extremely competitive.

Selections: NEMEAN LION

15.00 – bet365 Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f

NELLS SON took the scalp of his opponents in a Grade 2 at this fixture last season and ran a fair race at Cheltenham back over hurdles last time when sixth of 15. He is 2Ib lower and has undergone surgery since, so he’s a serious contender. The hat-trick seeking DANCEWITHTHEWIND won decisively here last time and is feared most with that form working out well.

Selections: NELLS SON, DANCEWITHTHEWIND

15.35 – bet365 Premier Chase – 2m7f

LE MILOS has won four of his last five starts and showed qualities to collect the Coral Gold Cup last time at Newbury. He should prove hard to beat on these terms, while former Cheltenham Festival winner THE SHUNTER is favoured by the weights and is capable of going close, as he won at this meeting two years ago.

Selections: LE MILOS, THE SHUNTER

16.10 – bet365 Juvenile Hurdle – 2m

PLANET LEGEND was in the process of running well last time but for falling at the last hurdle and could gain compensation here down in grade with more to come. GREATNESS AWAITS displayed promise when sixth of 15 on his hurdles debut and cannot be discounted.

Selections: PLANET LEGEND, GREATNESS AWAITS
