Kelso Place 6 preview | 17th February

14.05 – Book Now For Ladies Day Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m6f

TIGER JET has been highly tried over hurdles of late and has won two of his last five starts, which were both in higher grade events. He is expected to be competitive in this lower grade, though SWALLOWS SONG has placed in both hurdle starts and should be thereabouts.

Selections: TIGER JET, SWALLOWS SONG

14.35 – Johnston Smillie Novices’ Hurdle – 2m

Dan Skelton’s RICHHILL shaped really well when third on his stable/hurdles debut at Chepstow in a race that has worked out well and got off the mark at Southwell three weeks ago. He should have more to come and is fancied to follow up in this race.

Selections: RICHHILL

15.05 – Racing‘s Best Ratings With Timeform Handicap Chase – 2m5f

MINELLA DRAMA made the most of a drop in class when winning at Musselburgh last time and, with that form being boosted since, he should go well here. ELVIS MAIL has a good record at this course and ran well when third in the Sky Bet Chase last time. DUBAI DAYS gets a lot of weight from his three rivals and is next best.

Selections: MINELLA DRAMA, ELVIS MAIL, DUBAI DAYS

15.35 – Subscribe To Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle – 2m

WEST CORK has gone backwards since his second on chase debut but he was a smart hurdler beforehand and is 3Ib lower than when second in the Welsh Champion Hurdle. He should go close, while DANCEWITHTHEWIND has won over C&D and won nicely last time. He is feared most.

Selections: WEST CORK, DANCEWITHTHEWIND

16.05 – 50 Winners With Lucinda Russell Racing Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase – 2m

Paul Nicholls’ FLASH COLLONGES has finished second in all three chase starts despite not translating his hurdles form to the sphere as of yet. He should find this race easier than the last twice though, so even though he is required to carry top-weight, this is a good chance for him to open his account.

Selections: FLASH COLLONGES

16.35 – Church House Investments Open Hunters’ Chase – 2m7f

SECRET INVESTOR is the class act in the field and scored comfortably a week ago. He is miles clear of these on official ratings and Paul Nicholls’ talented 11-year-old can make it two wins from two starts in Hunters’ Chase events.

Selections: SECRET INVESTOR
