Huntingdon Place 6 preview | 23rd February

13.40 – Visit racingtv.com Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m

MANINSANE has proven to be just as effective over fences and ran well when second at Hereford. He should go well, while TRAPISTA should be able to bridge the gap on the former (third last time at Hereford) on these better terms. GREAT HEART’JAC won his chase debut and has a chance, as does CHARLIE’S GLANCE who completes the quartet.

Selections: MANINSANE, TRAPISTA, GREAT HEART’JAC, CHARLIE’S GLANCE

14.15 – Every Race Live On Racing TV Novices’ Hurdle – 1m7f

SAMUEL SPADE won a good race (class 2) on his hurdles debut and then backed that up with a good second behind the smart Perseus Way in the same grade last time. Ben Pauling’s charge takes a significant ease in grade for this race and it is hard to see him beaten unless something improves past him.

Selections: SAMUEL SPADE

14.50 – Every Race Live On Racing TV EBF Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m4f

BLUE BEACH bolted up on her debut in a bumper and although she could only finish third last time over hurdles, her hurdles debut second to You Wear It Well reads well given that one has subsequently won a Grade 2. She has a great chance to make it third time lucky in this sphere here.

Selections: BLUE BEACH

15.25 – Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f

BLUE SHARK is on a roll of late, who’s won his last four starts and is keeping the handicapper at bay at the moment. His mark has gone up again but this is a thin race and the five-timer beckons. KING OTIS makes his stable/UK debut in this race and while his two hurdle starts to date haven’t revealed much, he could outrun his large odds.

Selections: BLUE SHARK, KING OTIS

16.00 – Racing TV Handicap Chase – 2m3f

ROOSTER COGBURN jumped impeccably en route to scoring by more than six lengths at Hereford last time and a repeat in this race could be enough to see Peter Bowen’s charge double his tally for the year. TIP TOP MOUNTAIN is building up a good strike-rate over fences and beat a decent prospect last time. He is the obvious danger.

Selections: ROOSTER COGBURN, TIP TOP MOUNTAIN

16.35 – Bet At racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f

PRIDE OF HAWRIDGE displayed decent form on the Flat and has shaped a lot better than the beaten margin has suggested in all three hurdle starts. He is one for the shortlist, as is BOUNDSY BOY who has fallen to a dangerous mark in this sphere and should be competitive.

Selections: PRIDE OF HAWRIDGE, BOUNDSY BOY
