Haydock Place 6 preview | 12th August

14.25 – Betfred ‘Play Fred’s 5 Million’ Handicap – 1m

THE TURPINATOR has yet to fire in three starts this year but is 5Ib below his last winning mark and could go well at a price. FANTASTIC FOX is also operating from a mark lower than when last successful and has lots of other smart form off higher marks. He cannot be ruled out, while the unbeaten POET MASTER could be a Group horse running in a handicap on handicap debut and is respected.

Tips: THE TURPINATOR, FANTASTIC FOX, POET MASTER

15.00 – Betfred Rose Of Lancaster Stakes – 1m2f

I really like the chances of MIDNIGHT MILE who’s age and sex allowance could prove vital in this race. She has two Listed wins to her name and was most impressive at York just over two weeks ago. She should have plenty more to come and has already shaped well at the highest level previously, so while she is back up in grade, I think he will be up to it and give the favourite most to think about.

Tips: MIDNIGHT MILE

15.35 – Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Handicap – 1m2f

A competitive little race so I’ll just side with the top-weight KHINJANI and hope for the best. She only found one too good at Newbury last time and it is only a matter of time before she gets her head in front after proving consistent in defeat up until now. Despite conceding weight to the remainder, this filly ought to be competitive.

Tips: KHINJANI

16.10 – British Stallion Studs EBF Dick Hern Stakes – 1m

HEREDIA has not been seen to the best effect in three starts this year but has finished second in two of them and the return to a mile will suit her better. She remains unexposed over the trip, in which she has a Royal Ascot win and a third in a Listed event after just two starts. She makes plenty of appeal and has the class to go close in this race. BREEGE has finished second in the Sandringham Handicap and the Oak Tree Stakes the last twice and should be hard to keep out of the frame.

Tips: HEREDIA, BREEGE

16.45 – Betfred Nifty 50 Handicap – 1m

POL ROGER is the best handicapped horse in the race, who ought to be going close in a race like this. His form figures from last summer reads 2112 and his second to Metal Merchant at Ayr is a smart piece of form. This will be the first time in this grade over this trip and conditions will be just about perfect for him. 4Ib better off with Pearl Eye and a career-low mark of 73, he has to be considered a major player.

Tips: POL ROGER

17.20 – Betfred ‘Passionate About Sport’ Handicap – 7f

ZAPPHIRE has displayed promise in each of her three starts, placing in both starts at this level and while this opening mark asks more, she is likely to step her game up. GLORY SKY has progressed with every run and opened her account from the front at Kempton. I don’t think she is badly treated off 72 based on that winning performance last time and has a chance.

Tips:  ZAPPHIRE, GLORY SKY
