Galway Place 6 betting preview | July 30th

14.00 – BoyleSports Download The App Maiden Hurdle – 2m

I really like the claims of MERLIN GIANT who was highly tried in his hurdles debut back in April and shaped well when second on the Flat at this course just three days ago. With that run used as a prep for this race, he’s a serious player in the opener.

Selections: MERLIN GIANT

14.30 – BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle (Grade B) – 2m6f

LA PRIMA DONNA completed a simple task back in May and will be even more effective back over this longer distance. She’s a very good mare and with her team in flying form, she’s sure to be thereabouts. Stablemate FINEST EVERMORE has been off for seven months but was fourth in a Grade 2 when last seen and could go close if ready to roll.

Selections: LA PRIMA DONNA, FINEST EVERMORE

15.05 – BoyleSports Casino Irish EBF Maiden – 1m

HIAWATHA showed lots of promise when runner-up on his debut and is a half-brother to the stable’s high-class Luxembourg. This son of Camelot has a quality pedigree and could be too good for these with the necessary improvement sure to come with that run under his belt.

Selections: HIAWATHA

15.40 – Bathshack Maiden – 1m

Dermot Weld’s TOUCHING CLOUDS showed up really well on her first run when second at Gowran and with more to come, she should be very competitive. MELNIK has finished third in both starts to date and despite returning a beaten favourite last time, he’s a danger.

Selections: TOUCHING CLOUDS, MELNIK

16.15 – Gra Chocolates Irish EBF Nursery Handicap – 7f

CONGO RIVER has gone off a short price favourite in both starts so far and while he’s yet to get his head in front, the form of his debut second looks a strong piece of form for this grade and this looks like a good opportunity to make a winning handicap debut.

Selections: CONGO RIVER

16.45 – Ardilaun Hotel Handicap (50-75) – 7f

PEERLESS was disappointing when last seen in Britain but he’s well treated and could surprise a few at a big price off the same mark as when last successful. THE BLUE PANTHER hasn’t won for a while but he’s fallen to an attractive mark and could be about to make his presence felt in this wide-open event.

Selections: PEERLESS, THE BLUE PANTHER
