Cartmel Place 6 preview | 28th August

13.20 – Sticky Toffee Pudding Handicap Chase – 2m1f

JACKHAMMER won on the Flat in June and has recorded two solid place efforts in this sphere, including when second over C&D two starts ago when he had a few of these in behind. He can go well, while WE’LL GO AGAIN has placed in three of his four chase starts and should be thereabouts with more to come in first-time cheekpieces.

Tips: JACKHAMMER, WE’LL GO AGAIN

13.50 – Weatherbys Hamilton Cavendish Cup Handicap Chase – 3m1f

JONY MAX is a really consistent sort and came within a neck of success over C&D in June. He is likely to give another good account of himself and might be able to go one better with a repeat of that second here. Stablemate POWERFUL POSITION will strip fitter from his comeback run after nine months last time though and cannot be ruled out.

Tips: JONY MAX, POWERFUL POSITION

14.20 – Wicks Waste Management Handicap Chase – 2m5f

JELSKI has four course wins to his name and returned a good winner over C&D when last spotted. The nine-year-old should take a lot of beating as he bids to land the hat-trick. I will recommend covering with KELLYISCOOL though, who wasn’t far behind the former over C&D last time when third and could build on that with more to come.

Tips: JELSKI, KELLYISCOOL

14.55 – Kevin O’Toole Memorial Juvenile Hurdle – 2m1f

Milton Harris sends just the one runner to this course in the shape of BALBOA who will make his hurdles debut in a winnable race. Those with experience over hurdles don’t set a high standard and Harry Cobden does a good job for this stable, so hopefully this hurdles debutant can hopefully make a winning one.

Tips: BALBOA

15.30 – EWGA Handicap Hurdle – 2m6f

COAL FIRE snatched victory at Market Rasen when last seen and while he has been hit with a four pound rise, the seven-year-old could easily follow up with more to offer. MY GIFT TO YOU has won his last two starts and is clearly at the top of his name, so the three-timer could well be on the cards.

Tips: COAL FIRE, MY GIFT TO YOU

16.05 – EWGA Handicap Hurdle – 2m6f

NATIVE FIGHTER has a good record here with two course wins to his name and is down into a class 5 race for the first time over hurdles. His last win was off a 24 pounds higher mark and he has the class to defy top-weight. Of the rest, UNWANTED ATTENTION opened his account over hurdles last-time-out and is sure to make his presence felt with a repeat performance.

Tips: NATIVE FIGHTER, UNWANTED ATTENTION
