Goodwood – Place 6 preview | 26th August

13.30 – British EBF 40th Anniversary Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes – 6f

BETTIES BAY opened her account at the third time of asking at Newbury last month and the form has worked out well since, especially by the third placed horse, who won at this meeting earlier in the week. With more to offer, she is the one to beat in the opener.

Tips: BETTIES BAY

14.05 – William Hill Prestige Fillies’ Stakes – 7f

CARLA’S WAY created a deep impression on debut at Doncaster and ran well to finish eighth in the Albany at Royal Ascot despite doing a lot wrong throughout. She could take some beating, while PRETTY CRYSTAL and KOMAT cannot be ruled out. The latter will appreciate the step up in trip and is of interest.

Tips: CARLA’S WAY, PRETTY CRYSTAL, KOMAT

14.40 – William Hill Celebration Mile Stakes – 1m

CHARYN is a very smart horse who has placed in the Irish Guineas and the St James’s Palace Stakes and was third in the Sussex Stakes over C&D when last seen. He is the one to beat back down in grade, while KNIGHT returned a respectable fourth over C&D last time and has room for improvement. Recent C&D winner EPICTETUS, who beat Knight, is feared.

Tips: CHARYN, KNIGHT, EPICTETUS

15.15 – William Hill Handicap – 7f

SAXON KING made it two wins from five this year when scoring in a good race at Chester and ran well last time at Newmarket despite returning a beaten favourite. He should be competitive, though BLESS HIM might get this race run to suit and is now back on the same mark as when winning the Bunbury Cup last year.

Tips: SAXON KING, BLESS HIM

15.50 – William Hill Pick Your Places Handicap – 1m1f

GRAIGNES has been back to his best the last two times, winning emphatically at Kempton and then at Sandown. He will also escape a penalty for that success six days ago and should take some beating in his hat-trick bid. James Doyle takes the ride and his mount can bring an end to the winning steak of Lucky Fifteen.

Tips: GRAIGNES

16.25 – William Hill Keep Your Raceday Positive Handicap – 5f

LORD RIDDIFORD has an excellent record here with four C&D wins to his name and his decisive victory here last time has worked out well. He should go very well off top-weight. I will also include GLAMOROUS BREEZE who has lots of speed and has been running really well of late too. She ran well on her last visit here and should be thereabouts.

Tips: LORD RIDDIFORD, GLAMOROUS BREEZE
