Worcester Place 6 Preview | 29th August

16.40 – Martin Keighley Racing Club Handicap Chase

MISS ANTIPOVA is surprisingly still winless in 21 attempts but has been knocking on the door in recent months, finishing second in her last five starts, and could open her account if the first-time headgear can bring about improvement. Of the rest, DIRK GENTLY ran well when third over C&D last time and is of interest on his chase debut.

Tips: MISS ANTIPOVA, DIRK GENTLY

17.15 – Worthington’s Pre-Training Handicap Chase

RESERVE TANK was a high-class horse in his prime and cashed-in on a reduced mark at Market Rasen in June. He isn’t guaranteed to back that up given his inconsistency but he has the back-class to do so if he is in the mood. CAPTAIN TOMMY is also capable off this mark and could pose the biggest threat if he can produce his best.

Tips: RESERVE TANK, CAPTAIN TOMMY

17.45 – Dog House Pizzeria Novices’ Hurdle

This race can go to Harry Fry’s WINTERWATCH who sets a good standard having finished second in his last three starts in this sphere. He was heavily beaten on the Flat last time but ran well in the Northumberland Vase the time before that and should go well. DERRY GIRL won nicely over C&D last time on her hurdles debut though and is the feasible substitute in case the former flops.

Tips: WINTERWATCH, DERRY GIRL

18.20 – Ann Hitchings Memorial Handicap Hurdle

SEA THE CLOUDS came very close over C&D four weeks ago when beaten only a neck and has only been raised three pounds. He is the one to beat with improvement to come, while WHISKEY AND WATER finished second in a better race when last seen in this sphere and Harry Cobden will take the ride. He could feature after a spin on the Flat last-time-out.

Tips: SEA THE CLOUDS, WHISKEY AND WATER

18.55 – Ann Hitchings Memorial Handicap Hurdle

CREATIVE CONTROL is only a pound higher than when dominating a race at Musselburgh last year and has undergone wind surgery since he was last seen. Despite his big weight, the seven-year-old has a chance. RARE CLOUDS is only two pounds above his last win and could also get involved in what is a weak contest.

Tips: CREATIVE CONTROL, RARE CLOUDS

19.25 – Hanley Swan Equestrian Mares’ Maiden Hurdle

Hard to see past bumper winner FOUNTAINSPINKLADY who could be set to make a winning hurdles debut. Her breeding suggests she will appreciate the step up in distance and given she’s the only one of these to have won to date under rules, she should take a lot of beating in the finale of the preview.

Leg 6 Selections: FOUNTAINSPINKLADY
