In the opener, TORRENT must have a massive chance. This course winner has continued to slip down the handicap and has several placed efforts in stronger races off higher marks. This is really winnable, so it would come as a disappointment if he can’t go close.

14.30 Sun Racing Summer Jumps Championship Maiden Hurdle

MARTYMILL absolutely pulverised his opponents when scoring at the sixth attempt at Downpatrick last time out. His attention is now switched to hurdles and there’s plenty to like about his credentials, so he earns the vote, with Jentobello feared the most.

15.00 Taverna Nights On Saturday 26th September Handicap Chase

ICE JET looks the way to go. Dan Skelton’s contender is having a strong year, with three wins and three seconds to his name from six starts and will receive so much weight from the rest of the field. He can make it third time lucky over the larger obstacles with his team in excellent form.

15.30 Pip & Chris Emerald Wedding Anniversary Handicap Hurdle

NORMAN FLETCHER has come a long way down the handicap and is 13lb lower than when he last got his head in front. His latest third at Worcester wasn’t a bad effort and there are question marks against most of the field, so he should be able to at least fill the frame.

16.00 Ready Freddie Go Handicap Chase

LIGHT N STRIKE was disappointing last time out but is sure to appreciate the drop down in grade and is dangerously well treated. He is 10lb lower than when last successful and has rejoined his former yard, so he’s fancied to make a serious impact against lower rated opposition than he’s used to battling with.

16.30 Sun Racing The Favourite Pullout Every Day Handicap Hurdle

This is a really poor race so a chance is taken on LATIN. He was in the process of running really well at Worcester last time out but for a bad mistake at the second last flight. He’s since joined Olly Murphy and the handicapper has dropped him a pound, so he must be considered.
