14.30 Clearanswer Call Centres Maiden Fillies’ Stakes
FOOD FOR THOUGHT sets a good standard based on her latest, narrow second to the smart Sacred Ground at Yarmouth. The winner has advertised the form since with a second in a Listed event, so a Royal winner could be very much on the cards in the opener.
Tips: FOOD FOR THOUGHT
15.00 IRE-Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish ‘Confined’ EBF Novice Stakes
Anchiano is an interesting newcomer but NAVY LIGHT shaped very well when a close-up fourth on debut at Ripon. With that experience under his belt, it would come as no surprise to see Richard Fahey’s charge have a significant part to play in the outcome.
Tips: NAVY LIGHT
15.30 Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Saves Lives Selling Stakes
SAUCY JANE is used to competing in much stronger events than this and won her only previous start over track and trip. Surely if things drop right for her, she is capable of winning a race like this. I think she has a massive chance.
Tips: SAUCY JANE
16.00 Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap
In what was a wide-open race, I’m going to highlight WITHOUT FLAW. She is back on her last winning mark (winner over C&D) and her latest third at Wetherby was respectable. Off a low weight from a good draw, she should be able to make a bold bid. C&D winner HOVER OVER THE WIND was very unlucky last time out and must be given another chance off an unchanged mark. He is very well treated at present (won off higher marks previously), so I can see him being competitive.
Tips: WITHOUT FLAW & HOVER OVER THE WIND
16.35 Napoleons Casino And Restaurant Hull Handicap
Plenty to consider in this contest but COOLREE has a fantastic record at this course, with form figures reading 11231 from five outings and was always in control of a C&D race last time out. In spite of this race being tougher, he remains very well handicapped on past form and is entitled to the utmost respect.
Tips: COOLREE
17.10 Racing Welfare Supporting Mental Health Handicap
Not the easiest race to solve but a chance is taken on FAREENAR. She shaped with promise on all three starts last year and should be able to take a step forward from her reappearance at Redcar. I can see her making a serious impact in a race that is lacking strength in depth.
Tips: FAREENAR
