13.50 Weatherbys Global Stallions App Handicap

I really like the claims of HUMAM. He was a notable eye-catcher on his last couple of starts last season, including here, where he stayed on well to finish third having been denied a clear passage. I can see him making a serious impact given he goes well fresh. ANDESITE is very well handicapped and could be thereabouts off a low weight.

14.25 Feilden Stakes (Listed)

MORSHDI improved from his promising debut second to narrowly score at York and could be set for a big season, so he’s one to consider in this hot event. WAREETH was a 14-length winner at Newcastle first time out and could be anything, so he’s the other one to note.

15.00 Earl Of Sefton Stakes (Group 3)

All five of these can be considered but with the fitness edge and weight advantage, BOILING POINT shades the verdict. He’s a C&D winner and the top-rated runner in the field. He gamely won the Cambridgeshire on his penultimate start and will be all-the-better from his comeback run, so he could be hard to pass.

15.35 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3)

I’m drawn to the chances of MUBASIMAH. She had plenty up her sleeve when winning over track and trip on debut and came within a neck of collecting a Group 3 here last time out. I think Andrew Balding has a very smart filly on his hands and can hopefully win this on her return before bigger targets await.

16.10 Scorthy Champ Standing At Barton British EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

No form to go on but given Hugo Palmer’s record with similar types, LADY QUEEN could be up to the challenge under Oisin Murphy. LADY JEMIMA could be worth a second look for the James Owen team with Luke Morris in the saddle. Hopefully one or both run well.

16.45 Molson Coors British EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes

SO REGAL let her supporters down when beaten at odds-on in third on debut but she did stay on strongly late on once the penny dropped and she’s bound to have more to come this season. With Ryan Moore taking the ride, this daughter of Kingman must have every chance.
